Hayward really hurt the Celtics on both ends tonight (and on the last play). He doesn’t look right yet. This is gonna take awhile. Really hard to justify him playing 25-30 mins a game right now - they have 8 guys who are clearly better.

Bill is right. I know it is a catch-22 with trying to win games vs. trying to get Hayward back acclimated to the NBA early in the season, but he really is not helping us all that much right now.

Still have no idea why our first ATO was so early in the clock, ugh. Would almost prefer a shot clock violation than an Oladipo fast break

Should have just given Kyrie the ball to dribble out the clock before taking a last second shot.
It was a good play. Kyrie makes that shot almost all the time. He just missed it. He hits it and it's game over up by 4 with what, 15 seconds left.

100% agree and am sick to death of hearing hayward homers saying hes our "best passer" and "best player" ... He's straight up awful right now....leave him on the bench in that last play, period.

His consistency is rookie-like at this point.  One game he'll look like his former self, and the next like he's in his first game back from his injury.  This game he was absolutely terrible aside from a few good plays.

Hope he finds his rhythm soon.

Sound the panic alarm they lost to a good team on the road. Season is OVER!

I'll have to see it again.  It didn't look like that easy of a shot to me with a defender on him.

Tatum needs to play better.

They literally all have to play better other then Marcus Morris.

I didn't feel like we deserved that game anyway.  Lots of poor play and poor stretches.

They make it too hard on themselves.  They played good d and knocked down a good percentage of their many threes.  They need to learn to get easier buckets.  They have the talent.

Too hard on themselves by not being more aggressive and driving to the bucket.  And missing too many wide open 3's.  And the long stretch of the late 2nd to much of the 3rd quarter of just bad play.  Didn't deserve it.

Agree.  3's are worth more than 2's, but you can't just look at field goal percentages.  You need to factor in the additional free throws earned when taking the ball to the hoop.

It is also going to the basket that gets opponents in foul trouble.

If the C's play all the rest of their games shooting over 40% from three and get around 40 points per game from their bench, they are going to win the vast majority of their games. They had a terrible last minute of the game that cost them the win. On most nights they win these games.

Hayward has been rusty, but to say he's worse than 8 guys on our team is just wrong. He's still been comfortably better than Brown and Rozier this season, who have been getting similar MPG and have been for the most part flat out awful

I didn't mind that last play. Irving was used as a decoy and was meant to screen two guys but Hayward is too rusty to bring in down the stretch like that. Right now, CBS best closing lineup is Kyrie-Smart-Tatum-Morris-Horford. I would've rather Smart had made that inbound pass.

Something no one here has mentioned (as far as I've seen): This was the second night of a back-to-back for Indy, having been at Chicago last night. Didn't seem to bother them. Celtics, meanwhile, just had a day off and still couldn't put away the Pacers.

the offense just isn't very good. It shines in spurts, and individual talents sometimes makes it look better than it is, but right now the offense is just bad.
