The Washington Wizards are likely to reroute Chris Paul in a trade and the Los Angeles Clippers are expected to pursue a reunion with the future Hall of Famer, league sources tell Bleacher Report.
I like the romantic aspect of it, but what are the chances of Kawhi, PG13 & CP3 all being healthy for the playoffs? 5%?

Heck, I hope Ballmer brings back (nba champion) DeAndre Jordan & Blake Griffin too.

I am surprised LAC will go away from Westbrook given how well he played for them last season.

Everything is different with the new CBA. This trade is the first sign. Bloated contracts are worse value, even for talented players. Draft picks are more valuable.

A guy like Marcus Smart or Derrick White on cost-controlled contracts will be as valuable, if not more valuable, than Bradley Beal on his bloated contract.

3 team deal would

Boston - Turner
Indy - Ayton
Phoenix - Brogdon, Gallo

The only issue with this is from report the C's could have had Turner in a trade for Hayward so why would they want him now?

They're limited on what they can pay him though. I'm not sure what his free agency market is for him, but they would've probably been outbid.

It makes you wonder about Jaylen and his supermax. Just what will his trade value be after that deal?

I had been thinking it would similar to Khris Middleton's trade value on his most recent contract.

Jaylen is about to turn 27. So 28 in one years time, 29 in two years time. Not far off Bradley Beal at that point in age. Big difference in health. Jaylen typically misses 10-15 games or so but he hasn't missed anywhere near as much as Beal. So he should not have that problem. But just how much could you expect to get back in a future trade for Jaylen post-super max? It doesn't look great.

You can move him, sure, but can you get equivalent value (on-court value)? How much of a drop off would there be? Is that difference in the future bigger or smaller than the possible drop-off in trading Jaylen now before the super-max with only 1 year left on his contract? Where is Jaylen's trade value higher and where lower?

Ah okay. I didn't think anyone else would be interested in Westbrook. That it was LAC only that would be after him.

Oooof. A Big 3 of Booker/Beal/Durant is gonna be deadly.

Instantly #2 seed in the West. Wonder how Denver will stop them now in the WCF

What amazes me is that it’s Durant’s third super team and no one in the media says a peep.

Yeah he definitely got no criticism for that move to Golden State….

Yeah, they don't have his bird rights so the most they can offer him is $3.8 million.

I think some contender would offer the taxpayer MLE at least. Off the top of my head, maybe Memphis to help keep them afloat while Ja is out and reunite with his buddy Steven Adams. He could actually be a good add to that locker room.

EDIT: Memphis actually has the non-tax MLE at $12,221,000. They also have the biannual at $4,448,000.

This kind of tells me Beal must not have wanted Miami after all. Miami would have definitely offered some firsts and/or some young players (Jovic, Highsmith). OR the Heat were offering a lot less than even rumored.

Or... Washington wanted to send him out of the conference entirely and were fine with the pure salary dump.

Turner doesn’t try much . Energy vampire like Jeff Green and Ayton. Also vampires.

I've long had my issues with Myles Turner. His rebounding has often been mediocre, although improved last season, and he's not a very good passer. His shooting and overall efficiency made a big jump, but I wonder how much that had to do with playing alongside someone as good at passing as Haliburton
