Steven Spielberg and JJ Abrams, dang. It's going to be interesting, to say the very least. Is it ... is it a horror movie? I can't really tell from the trailer, haha.

I'm seeing Pirates next weekend, and I'm pretty excited for that. Has anyone around here seen it yet?

From what I read it's like a combination of Cloverfield, E.T. and Close Encounters, but I don't know for sure. Pirates is supposed to be the best yet ... can't wait!

What do people think about Villain choices from the Dark Knight rises....

Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle and Hardy as Bane.

My predication is that there will be another villain that hasnt been released yet. I don't think Hathaway is going to appear as catwoman but rather Bruce Wayne's love intrest. And Bane will be seen mostly in his prison life.

I read recently that it definitely won't be the Riddler ... it would be great to have one of the lesser known villians, (from the comic books, not the TV show). Man, I'd hate to be the actor having to follow Heath Ledger's Joker ... brilliant intensity.
Everything I've read says Hathaway is definitely Selina Kyle/Catwoman and that Tom Hardy is definitely Bane.

Marion Cotillard has reportedly been cast as Miranda Tate who most believe is Talia Al Ghul, which certainly could be a potential villain and simultaneously a love interest for Wayne.

I also heard that Josh Pence was cast a younger version of Ra's al Ghul, which certainly indicates that Talia is going to be in the film.

EDIT:  Found a press release from Warner Bros. confirming a number of the actors and their roles http://www.batman-on-film.com/THE-DARK-KNIGHT-RISES_news_Cotillard-JGL-roles-revealed_4-19-11.html

Also, Nolan has said that Harvey Dent is dead (Eckhart wanted to return and was told by Nolan he can't because his character is dead) and that the Joker will not appear in the movie in any capacity.

Saw the new X-Men today.  Very good.  Way better then the last few X-Men movies and while it has been awhile since I've seen the original X-Men, I would put this one on par with it.  The cast is excellent.  Pretty engaging story.

Kevin Bacon is awesome as the villain, perfect fit in the role, which was surprising to me.

i saw it on opening day, the plot and storyline is good, but the teenager's dialogues were crappy

"WE ARE MUTANTS AND PROUD!", is a pretty dumb line. But overall the portrayal of the relationship between Magneto and Charles Xavier were done really well.

Another thing worth knowing is how they twisted the whole Cuban Missile Crisis. It was intense during the Cold War but I never recall them being in a brink of battle at sea ever.

Agree. I can't wait, (19 days, 16 hours, 4 minutes, 38 seconds ... but who's counting? ;)), but as with the books, it will be a bit hard to come to terms with the fact that there will be no more. The end of an incredible era ... it sucks, (and I keep hoping Rowling will reconsider).

Not crazy about Tom Cruise as far as the real world goes, but this should be a good flick ... "Ghost Protocol", with Paula Patton and amidst the amazing architecture of Dubai, (the Burj al Arab is on my Bucket List).

I do love that the guy does more of his own stunts than anyone in Hollywood ... they hired some big money stuntmen for MI3, and ended up barely using them, and I read that's typical for his movies, (he should have used a stuntman for the couch bit). ;)
