I didn’t read the article, but I’m sure there is a force majeure / act of God clause in every contract that defines what should happen during shutdowns.
I’m sure the NBA can withhold payment to the players. The networks probably have an out to reduce payment to the league, as well.
Can't believe that in these dark times the NBA is more concerned about their money than the wellbeing of the people and players under their care. Disgusting.
I don’t feel for the players; their salaries are tied to contracts and revenues, and they’re all doing just fine right now.
I feel for all the peripheral workers, from arena workers and parking attendants to those who work in surrounding restaurants and bars.
