It's been a dog's age since we had an MVP Poll, but I'm feeling festive after tonight's huge season saver in LA.

Ginormous performances by Ray and Rondo make for a tough choice for the top stop.  I'm going to give Rondo the edge here for the timeliness of his hugeness.  I'm giving the 3rd place to Big Baby for giving a ton of effort when it was needed in a big way.

Really though, there were a bunch of guys worthy of the last spot.

My picks:

Rondo 3
Ray 2
Big Baby 1
Yup

The uber-rare 3 Rondo, 3 Ray.

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
I went Ray 3, Rondo 1, Rasheed 1, Nate 1.  If I was forced to pick who was more valuable, it would be Ray, so I went that way.

I probably should have gone Ray 2, Rondo 2, Rasheed 1, Nate 1.  Ray and Rondo were both huge, and Rasheed and Nate both gave us huge lifts.

Got to go with Ray; but Rondo saved it for him at the end. Rebounding was also a huge difference.

My breakdown too, but I think we need to be able to just vote "team" sometimes -- so many minor contributions.  Take TA's big steal.  Not enough to vote him a game MVP, but it was a major swing we really needed.  Pierce effort was quietly crucial.  And even Doc got on the floor tonight!!!

Ray 3
Rondo 2
Nate 1

Without Nate's six minute stint to rest Rondo and Ray, Celtics lose this. He was the team's third star, IMHO.

I got Ray and Rondo with 2 each, and Sheed and Nate with 1 apiece.

But great game from the Team!
