But every one of those threes we're open shots and good shots. Just didn't make them.
The trouble, as I see it, is that "good shots" is now considered to be any open three-pointer by just about any player on the roster, and this team is not stacked with great 3pt shooters—several good ones, but there are no Ray Allens on Klay Thompsons on this roster. And if the threes aren't falling—as happens quite often with this team—they have trouble generating offense.
Last year the C's had 3 players shooting over 40% from three and Brown at 39.5% and Rozier at 38.7%. And they didn't have Hayward who has been at about 40% the last couple of years. With that many very good three point shooters, if you're taking wide open three pointers, that's an excellent shot.
It's funny - I kinda feel the same as rocknrollforyoursoul here... but I've not watched NBA in a while and seeing the game now... it looks like all teams play like this. Three first. Paint second. Regardless of who you are.
And if you think about it, it gets you 50% more points if you make them. So if you shoot 50% for 2, and over 33.3% for 3, it is statistically just better. So you take whatever OPEN shot you can get!
.edit: so I guess what I'm saying is, I, too, am still getting used to these threes.
