Kristaps Porziņģis has a right soleus strain, so this is a calf strain...I'm told this is going to be treated like a week to week injury, could be 1-2 weeks for Kristaps Porziņģis, could be even longer than that based on his rehab."

There's no way we're seeing him in the 2nd round.

Probably not but the reporting from shams is positive. Hopefully means it’s on the lower grade strain side.

I wouldn’t think so either, but as long as he’s back by the conference finals it will be okay.

If he comes back, he probably won't be as efficient as before. He'll be putting up Timelord stats post-injury. That's my second concern

He seemed okay when he came back after the calf injury early in the season. Guess it depends if he has his lift on shots which is where his value is.

Absolutely.

For who is wondering, this is pretty much what Chris Haynes just said, too. They're going to be careful with him and expect him to be out all the second round, with a plan for him to be ready for the ECF should we advance, which would be a little over three weeks from the date of the injury. Seems to be the most realistic scenario.

The more interesting question will be this - do we start him once he comes back, or stick with Al and bring KP off the bench to limit his minutes some? That may be the smarter idea, especially if we end up playing against an Embiid in the ECF and Jokic in the Finals. This is less needed against the New York bigs or Turner in Indy, but will be interesting to see what we do.

This is not in any way comparable to Timelord's injury. Totally different types of injuries and recoveries.

Haynes on TNT actually reported that KP is very likely to make his return in the ECF if Boston makes it. That sounds encouraging.

A 2nd round return never felt likely anyways

Honestly the whole reason we got porzingis was for the playoffs and we did everything we could all year long to manage him and keep him healthy…4 games into the playoff and he’s likely to miss the end of the first round and the entire second round…and that’s best case scenario. Yikes. Not sure I get the optimism
