So, in the OP's eyes, what would've been the right move for Lebron?

Staying in CLE with a team that has pretty clearly plateaued?

Depends if he is looking to further his legacy he would have gone to say the Clippers. With the Lakers he just looks so so small.

his stature within the legacy of the team he is playing for. To me a Laker legend he will have to measure up to Kobe, Shaq, Magic, Kareem, West, and company. He has a long way to go to get there.

Oh right, gotcha. I thought you meant the purple & gold made him look physically small, and I was very confused.

At this stage I feel like he either doesn't care, or believes his resume stacks up against all those guys

Can't it be both?

If there is clothing that makes LeBron James of all people look small, it would be in significant demand I reckon ;D

No, it cant be both because he does not have the choice. In Cleveland he was king, in Miami he was king. With the Lakers, its take a number and sit down.
