Thank you.

I just think it’s amazing the steady level of progress that Jaylen has made over his NBA career.

Coaches and GM’s will almost always temper fan’s expectations of a young player because they know progress is never linear, but Jaylen seems to contradict that notion.

I really hope JB stays a Celtic for his whole career, been an absolute joy to watch him consistently add to his game each year. Doesn't feel like he is close to his ceiling either.

Jaylen Brown leads the league in midrange FG% among players who have made at least 19 such shots (he has made 48).

100%..

If anything, it's a tiny bit frustrating that he still hasn't reached his peak...

What surprises me is that JB has taken more shots in the paint than Embiid. Is it because of games played? The celtics have more games played than most teams and embiid has never been the healthiest players

Doesn’t always happen that the eye test, or perception, matches the data.  But the quality of JBs midrange shooting has just been jaw-dropping.

Put another way, Jaylen has successfully made between 1 and 2 midrange shots on over 28 games, averaging about 3 attempts per game.

Jalen's having a great year but this particular point is fairly unremarkable.
Man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time.

But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.

Embiid also gets a very friendly whistle, so if he misses and gets the call he won't get credited with an attempt in the paint. Still, though, he has fewer FGM I'm the paint than JB so it can't just be that
I'm bitter.

Great stats. The bigger question is when he makes the all star game, will this team dole out 290M for a super max for him to stay in green? I hope and have hoped to see both Tatum and Brown stay with the Celtics until retirement or another Pierce/KG trade with the Nets at the end.

JB: best midrange shooter in the league. Elite three-level scorer.

Consider the bargain we have for Smart/Horford/RW3 going forward, they need to give both Jays the most they can. Have to show good will towards your two stars, especially given Brad has put cost controlled good players around them.

I also hope we can retire both as Celtics.

We probably all agree with this sentiment.

It is looking increasingly likely both he and Tatum will be making All-NBA teams for the next few years and will qualify for super max deals, so keeping them both, along with the teammates they will need around them for this to be worth it, will produce some wild cap numbers.
