Patty Mills became a free agent. He’d be a nice get as a third/fourth guard behind Smart, JB, and White. He’d play very well off of White off the bench with his shooting.

Would love to have Patty. He's a smart player. I wanted him last year before he joined the Nets. He may still stick with Brooklyn though.

"It helps that the Celtics have more tools at their disposal than most taxed-out franchises. In addition to the $6.4 million mini mid-level, they have two sizable trade exceptions: A $17.1 million TPE that expires on July 18 (Evan Fournier), and a $6.9 million TPE (Juan Hernangomez).

At least two of these tools should be used to reel in another ball-handling game manager and overall depth. The Celtics are so close that even upgrading the eighth and ninth spots in their rotation could put them over the top."

I agree with this. We need an updated bench to put us over the top.

ATL was set up perfectly for the Murray trade.  They had picks and a not-fully guaranteed matching contract.  We wouldn't have been able to beat it even if we wanted (which I doubt we would have).  Burks is no big loss.  It is a gamble of course, we have to actually find something else, but I am not loosing any sleep over Alec Burks.

The Celtics are generally cautious.  This off season will be no different.  I think there will be moves but likely not big enough ones to satisfy all fans.

What is Brad waiting for?

Gallo’s decision, apparently.

Pinning the whole off season on Gallo? I thought we were doing whatever it took to upgrade the team.

I have a strange feeling the Fournier deal just might push through if we luck out on Gallo and other notable free agents.

There are 3 more hours to complete it, because his salary becomes to big to fit the TPE on 7/1.

Ownership has given Brad permission to do what needs to be done.

Apparently there isn’t anything Brad feel needs to be done. Bucks got better. Celtics sitting idle.

I still don't buy this.  I guarantee that Brad has a budget.

I don't expect the team to spend $40+ million over the tax, but I do think that the team can still turn a healthy profit while spending $20 to $25 million over the tax limit.

I'd be completely fine with a Gallo addition, so long as he isn't our only move.

Nothing really to report as we approach hour 6, but nothing squashed, either. Celtics have been active on the MLE front, and less urgency with the TPE.

I can't wait to see who we fill the back of the roster with. We still need a wing.
