Chris Haynes: Yahoo Sources: Free agent center Thomas Bryant is receiving significant interest from contending teams including Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics. He’s expected to make a decision later this morning. – via Twitter ChrisBHaynes

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Man, Bruce Bowen to Denver for taxpayers MLE. That is a great pickup for DEN.

And who are we going after? A 34yo Gallinari who is well on the decline? And plays the same position as a G-Will who is our best or 2nd best bench player.

Excellent pickup for DEN along with KCP. Big boost to their wing defense heading into next season. DEN getting ready for a run next year.

Another mis-step for BKN. They should've kept Bruce Brown while they try to convince Durant and Kyrie to stay.

"contending teams" - They shouldn't be defining non-playoff team and the team that lost in the championship both as "contending teams"

Denver

G: J.Murray, Campazzo, Hyland
G: KCP, Bruce Brown
F: Porter Jr
F: A.Gordon, Jeff Green
C: Jokic, Cousins, D.Jordan

Their bench is still pretty light. Bruce Brown is their only quality bench player. Jeff Green is alright. The rest are pretty dodgy. Maybe Hyland can step forward next season. He had a good rookie year.

Their top 6 players are impressive though. The starting five and Bruce Brown.

Durant demanded out on Thursday. He wants nothing to do with Nets any longer.

And Kobe wanted out of the Lakers ...

These things can change. Nothing is final yet.

But so far, BKN doesn't seem interested in stopping this from happening. It has been a strange case of mis-management. I'm not sure I have ever seen a management who care so little about dismantling a title contender.

Toronto now got

G: VanVleet
G: Trent Jr, (Mykhailiuk?)
F: Anunoby, Scottie Barnes
F: Siakam, Boucher, Thad Young, Otto Porter
C: Achiuwa, Khem Birch

They are really doubling down on this nothing but forwards except for the odd specialist roster construction. One legit PG. One legit shooter / scorer in Trent Jr. A couple of low quality centers. Then nothing but a bunch of long 6-7 to 6-9 forwards.

Utah might not win 30 games without Gobert. No O'Neale. No Ingles. Lost Niang the year before.

G: Conley, Clarkson
G: D.Mitchell, Beverley
F: Bogdanovic, Beasley
F: Vanderbilt, Paschall
C: (nobody)

Oh, hmm ... reports of Utah going after Ayton.

That would be a good Gobert replacement. Someone young to pair with Donovan Mitchell.

They also got Nickeil Alexander-Walker, which I thought was a solid acquisition. But still, that teams going nowhere fast.

I mean if they turn these picks around to get ayton I think they are better than last year (Beverley and beasely are good players for them).

So the Pacers now have

G: Haliburton, McConnell
G: Hield, Mathurin
F: Duarte, Nesmith
F: Jalen Smith
C: Myles Turner, Theis

Not too bad. Not good either; not a playoff team. Another solid PF would go a long way to being a more respectable 28-32 win team rather than a 24-26 win team.

Dallas might be starting Christian Wood at PF next to JaVale McGee at C next season according to Tim McMahon. Big frontcourt.

Even with Malcolm Brogdon addition, Marcus Smart remains Celtics' 'unquestioned' starting point guard

A team source stressed Friday Marcus Smart remains the Celtics’unquestioned starting point guard, and that the team was simply looking to add depth. Brogdon and Gallinari both had starring roles, but they’re willing to step back in order to pursue championships. – via Boston Globe

The Celtics still have other assets at their disposal, as their $17.1 million trade exception that expires July 18 was not used in the Brogdon deal. But a league source said the team is now unlikely to use that to acquire another substantial piece. The source said the Celtics had actively pursued trades involving the exception over the past two weeks, but ultimately the deal involving Brogdon, whose salary was too large to fit into the exception, turned out to be the best option. – via Boston Globe
