I just don’t trust that he will be able to stay healthy moving forward and once this bargain of a contract comes to fruition he may command somewhere in the $20m per range.

Is now potentially the time to consider selling him (high)?

I don't trust him either. Happy to deal him.

Well wouldn’t you have a better idea about his health issues when this contact is over? Or are you just saying they should sell high?

His contract runs till 2026. Plenty of time till then. Having said that, I wouldn't be against selling high on Timelord either.

It seems like Anunoby may be available for the right price. I'd strongly consider trading Timelord + salary filler for Anunoby + minor asset. For instance, let's say Timelord + Theis for Anunoby + Achiuwa.

PG: Smart - White - Pritchard
SG: Brown - White - Nesmith
SF: Anunoby - Grant - Nesmith
PF: Tatum - Grant
C: Horford - Achiuwa

Imo, Tatum and Horford are at their best when playing at the 4 and the 5 respectively.

Yeah, I'd do that trade. I love Anunoby. Two way forward.

Sell high. I agree. I don’t ever trust him to ever be healthy.

Rob is reliably unreliable.  Like everyone (I assume) - I love the guy and love his game when healthy.  But it's a solid bet that he will not stay healthy throughout a season.  50/50 shot at best that he's healthy in the playoffs.

Therefore, field offers for him.  Clearly the C's will be in trouble in the middle if they don't have a way to replace him especially with Al another year older.  But... I'd be very interested in what other teams would send for him.   Rob for a PG, Marcus for a 4/5.

Funny, I just saw the following:

I love having the Timelord, but Anunoby is really good.

We'd be better playing Anunoby and Theis instead of playing Grant and Robert Williams.

His contract doesn't expire for years. Weird concern
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I love TIMELORD and have since his rookie year. He's not untouchable but you'd have to get something really good back for him, especially on that contract.

Torn.

I think he’s a very important piece of our defense.  However, if we could acquire Noel (for instance) to do a decent impression of Rob defensively while trading Rob to significantly upgrade our roster elsewhere, I’d listen.

It would have to be a knockout offer though - I’m talking about a star-caliber acquisition.  I don’t view Rob as untradeable but I do value him highly.

It’s not a concern for the reason you are suggesting (that we would be stuck with his contract… his contract is a bargain). It’s a concern for the reason that we could be without a young starting caliber center who can give us 60+ games a season and health during a playoff run.

With Horford aging, it’s just something we may want to consider risk mitigating against.

I think he'll be fine as long as we're conservative with his minutes. We should play him 25mpg or so in my opinion. That's why I want us to get a more solid back-up big than Theis.

He plays about 75% of games, and in those games he is one of our most impactful players. That is fine by me for the bargain deal he is on

I would trade him for Malcolm Brogdon.

He fits a rebuild mentality in Indiana, who's also looking to get rid of Turner.

Brogdon is older, but a rookie of the year, and DPOY in the ACC.  He's also clutch AF as he hit a ton of crunch time shots for UVa in his career.  He has no fear.

Win now.  Let's do it!
