I like that the Pats loaded up on "the trenches" in the later rounds of the draft (DT, OG, OT), rather than what they typically seem to do -- safety/LB/ special teamer type.

I was hoping for two WRs, but like that there are two RBs. I think it spells the end for JJ Taylor, but I love the idea of competition in the RB room. People say the Pats are deep at RB, but they aren't really that deep. While there might be a bunch on the roster this year, it is very blurry for the following year. The only guarantee is that the Pats will have Rhamondre in 22/23.

More like the end for Damien Harris who is due for a decent size contract after this coming season… I wouldn’t be surprised if Bill traded him.
I get the logic behind it, but I would nonetheless be sad to see Harris go
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

There's suddenly a lot of Jones' on the roster.

There is also a double Harris-threat in the RB group

Completely agree. Harris is fun to watch and it feels like he hasn’t been on the team very long. Finally had a breakout season and he’s likely out the door. It’s a shame.

It's the sad norm of running backs in the NFL. Unless you're Frank Gore

Kiper gave the Pats a C+, of course that was the lowest grade which only the Cowboys also scored.  He hated the first 2 picks from a value standpoint as well some of the later ones, though did really like Jones and Strong in the 3rd and 4th round.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Think the Pats scored bottom 2 on every website that I looked at which listed draft grades. I actually do like the 2nd pick for the WR Thornton. Much less of a stretch than Strange was considering how quickly the WR’s were going. Not only was he the fastest WR at the combine, but he has decent height too, at 6’2”. This was the only pick that I was excited for.  Parker, Myers, Bourne, Agholor, Thornton… It’s definitely an improvement. Well, on paper at least..

Broncos sold to Walton family for 4.65 billion.  By far the largest purchase price of any team in US sports.

Ravens 26 year old Linebacker Jaylon Ferguson has passed away.  No cause of death has been released though he apparently died just after midnight at a home.  It does not appear there was trauma or foul play.

Ferguson is the 3rd active NFL Player to die this offseason following Haskins on April 9 and Jeff Gladney on May 30.

For a measly conditional 5th round pick that could turn into a 4th.
