Just a reprint of the Woj report. Nothing substantive.

Bidding war between Chicago and Indy let's go.

  • Everybody knows what's best for you
With multiple teams coming to us for our assets in fear we will choose another offer, I don't see how we come out of any deal overpaying.

The problem is neither the Bulls or the Pacers really have any pressure to deal their stars.

Well if the Pacers don't improve the roster to a point where the Pacers end up hitting at least 4-5th seed next year, I don't see PG13 agreeing to an extension.

The thing I like about this report is Ainge, potentially, has the Bulls and Pacers worried that if they don't do a deal now, they'll lose out on the best possible trade for their star to the other team.

This is my trade proposal for Indy. Gives us Myles and George and you can have both Nets picks. It gives us Center of the future, plus George for a year and quarter. It is a lot, but we get a lot.

At least this gives the image that the '17 BK pick could be on the table for another player.  Puts more pressure on Chicago to make a deal centered on that pick alone.

And at around 2:50pm tomorrow Danny pulled 2 seperate trades that land both Butler and PG (GMs not being aware of it)  8)

Much as I want George, the last thing I want is to sign him, have him for 1.5 years and then lose him to the Lakers.

Mike

I believe that's 2.5 years for George. Butler is 3.5 years.

The Lakers are a real concern for George.

The last year of his contract is a player option, though, for $20m.

Butler similarly has an option.  So it's 1.5 for George and 2.5 for Butler.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Eh, I don't expect things to get serious until tomorrow afternoon anyways. That's when things get serious and teams start getting serious about offers.

You have to think one of Indy or Chicago blinks and ultimately trades their guy at the last minute in order to claim that Brooklyn pick with as valuable as it is. At this point, though, I do think George is more likely to be traded. He's on a shorter contract, and Indy just realistically doesn't have the assets or ways to really improve the team around him.
