I understand we are not cap experts, but come on guys, a bit of effort won't kill you. Check around and read some posts to get familiar with cap space and trade rules.
Some comments here start to look like a joke.
No wonder Saltlover is getting tired of repeating himself.

Don't do it Danny.....giving up too much.
You don't even know what the Celtics would be giving up, and they would be landing two All-Star caliber players to join two other All-Star caliber players already on the team.

Yeah, but unless we're guaranteed to sweep Golden State, we shouldn't give up any "assets" in a future deal.

/sarcasm

If Danny turns the #1, cap space, and some good but not great players into George, Hayward and Tatum, they should build him a statue.

I agree. Half the people here are just being brainless homers and fanatics, and assuming Hayward/George would take pay cuts, or the Celtics only have to trade one small player to get back two Allstars in return. Its just ridiculous. Like some people here post the same boring topic over and over again, without

A - Looking to see which posts were posted already
B- Not doing a little bit of research
C- Posting it to try to be first
D- Posts an boring and uninteresting topic that has been discussed to death, and get mad when someone points it out.

Saltlover, to his credit and patience, has answered this more than 20 times in different threads.

EDIT, Marks qualifies as a cap expert.

Math in Boston would be complicated but can be done to fit PG and Hayward in.

Celtics bench would certainly be thin.

Roster in Boston would be: Horford, IT, Tatum, Brown, PG, Hayward, Smart, Room ML and 6 minimum/2nd rd. picks.

The most PG could extend for is 120% above his $19.5m salary= $23.4m ($7m below his max in 18-19). Could renegotiate but need cap space.

Wonder if Zizic could be squeezed in. Kaufman seems to think so.

What I think is going to happen is we'll trade Bradley for a late 1st rounder that hits in 2021 and save the salary that way.  Something like that
If we trade Bradley for future pick(s), how will we match salaries for George?

Would need a S&T with Olynyk most likely, and add Crowder.  Or trade for George in August when Tatum's salary can count towards matching.

But I don't think those are likely scenarios.

I'm all for acquiring both George/Hayward but lets be real here, we'd be one injury away from having difficulty getting 5 guys on the court with that roster.

Yeah, I think we can keep Zizic. If Hayward takes a haircut we can keep Rozier, too.

Hayward would have to take a decent haircut to keep Rozier.  Moving only Rozier  and Jackson means Hayward might take a haircut of a couple hundred thousand, where the cap winds up.  Keeping Rozier adds over $1 million to that discount in year 1, and close to $5 million over a 4-year deal.

I think this is just getting silly.. How much less do people honestly think Hayward would be willing to accept to come to Boston? He's already sacrificing an extra year at more money with Utah to come here.
I get the "he just wants to win" argument, assuming that is even the case.. But this roster doesn't even guarantee we get past Cleveland let alone The Warriors, and our bench would be uncomfortably thin unless we get some vets to sign at the league minimum.. We'd be one injury away from kissing the season goodbye.

Last five spots would have to be roster min vets...KO, Rozier, Jonas, Zeller, Young, Green, Amir all gone....Crowder, Rozier, AB traded

Guessing the Hayward signing has to happen first because the Celtics want to take on salary in the George trade. So renounce or release KO, Amir, Jerebko, Young, Zeller, Mickey, and Green. That should clear up almost everything to sign Hayward. Then send AB, Crowder and picks to Indy while taking back more money which puts them over the cap.

Danny just has to make sure ownership is onboard for a couple of years of luxury tax bills when he re-signs IT and George next year.

Yabusele has to stay overseas.  Jackson needs to be moved to clear salary.
