Theis, Langford, and Edwards for JJ Reddick.

Though, I love me some Theis.
why would we give up our starting C to get JJ Redick for our bench? that puts us in a worse hole in the already tight C position.

Agreed, just throwing around ideas, ya know?

We need a center and a shooting guard off the bench.

Don't disappoint me this year, Danny.

Poirier + Bucks 1st for Dario Saric.

Then sign a depth big from the buyout market that emerges. Hope Timelord returns as well in the 2nd half.

I'd love guys like Bjelica/Bertans, but I question if Danny would want to essentially dump our bench and/or trade a promising young player like Langford this soon just for salary-matching purposes.

Technically though, something like Green + Edwards + Poirier + pick(s) works for Bjelica/Bertans if you want to go that route.
only trade here that we're not overpaying (except the KAT/Wiggins deal).  If that's all it took to get a decent PF for the bench that can shoot and pass to replace a 4th string center that has continually looked like he's out of his league when on the court -- I'd do it but I suspect it'd take a bit more to get Saric

How are the pacers supposed to take five players for one?  They don’t have 20 player slots.

The issue with a bunch of players for one is roster slots.  They really have to like what they’re getting back to cut a bunch of players.

(sorry for repeating this idea)

How about trading for both Bjelica and Holmes from the Sacramento Kings?

To Celtics: Nemanja Bjelica and Richaun Holmes
To Kings: Grant Williams, Carsen Edwards, Vincent Poirier, Javonte Green + '20 Bucks pick

(sign Evan Turner if he gets bought out)

New playoff rotation:

Guards: Walker, Smart (+ Wanamaker, Langford)
Wings: Brown, Tatum, Hayward, Bjelica (+ Turner, Ojeleye)
Bigs: Holmes, Theis, Kanter (+ R. Williams)

I'd rather substitute Langford in for Grant (and maybe the Bucks pick, but either way). No interest in shipping Grant, because I think he can be a legit contributor this year and beyond.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I don't see Ainge trading both Theis Kanter and Williams because who else is going to play center for us?   This is not a good idea.
Judging by his posts, it appears dannyboy doesn't understand the CBA, trading rules, etc. So he is probably just throwing names out there to show just how much he likes Turner.

Let me be more clear. I basically mean I would trade any chosen combination of players that makes a trade financial possible to the point of it even weakening us THIS year. This is all super super unlikely . Yeah. I’m just trying to say how much confidence I’d have in the combination of those guys. Our top 5 and Turner.
It’s not literally going to be all these guys for him. I’m just trying to say I’d really go far to get that combo in the court for the next few yrs

I wonder if a Bertans deal were to happen if IT would be a good/ bad idea ? I wouldn’t think it would take much. The fans would love it. Between those two that would really add some shot creation and shot making to the bench. Flip side is pretty terrible though. ( defensively) As long as IT could deal with less minutes then he’s been getting I’d dig it.

Salary-wise, Theis + Kanter + Langford for Turner is a valid trade. Problem is, the Pacers would have zero incentive to do a 3 for 1. We'd have to find a 3rd team. Not the easiest thing to do, but it's certainly possible.

Feel free to add pick(s) if you see fit. It also works with the Kings (instead of the Wizards) for Bogdanovic and with the Knicks for Marcus Morris.

The C's would then have 2 roster spots available to sign players via the buyout market.

One name to watch on the buyout market is Ian Mahinmi, who could become available

Let's say we sign Mahinmi and some other guy.

rotation come playoff time

Kemba (36) - Smart (12)
Brown (36) - Smart (12)
Hayward (36) - Smart (12)
Tatum (36) - Semi/Grant (12)
Turner (36) - Mahinmi/Poirier/Timelord (12)

If you ask me, this is a championship-caliber team.

Other (unlikely) options via the buyout market might be Tristan Thompson and Derrick Favors. Worst case scenario, we can always sign Keneth Farried. He wasn't half bad last season with the Rockets averaging 13 points and 8 rebs in 24.4 mins of playing time. His defense sucks, but he's a good rebounder + pick n roll threat. Fwiw, Noah, Amir and Zaza are also free agents.

I like someone who has high motor with menacing defense and rebounding.

Boston acquire M. Harrell
Clippers get Poirier and Semi

He could cover scoring forwards and guards and is quick on help defense.
He could be a great spark from the 2nd unit.

I think we are better staying with what we have than to go for Turner.
Both on-court product and asset wise.
Turner seems weak somehow.

I guess their need for a big man sort of depends on Timelord and if they expect him to come back healthy this year. If he does, I think they have enough at C to make it work. But they really do need a guy off the bench that can shoot/score.

And why in the world would the clipper so that?
