Title: Hypothetical: Way to get Dwight Howard
Post by: gpap on May 14, 2013, 01:15:31 PM
Is there a way the Celts could work out a sign and trade of Dwight Howard and Josh Smith?

Say dealing KG and spare parts for a sign and trade of Dwight and then dealing Pierce in a sign and trade for Josh Smith?

I believe the Lakers, as luxury tax offenders, do not have the option/ability to take back salary in a sign-and-trade of Howard.

Edit: Beginning with this coming offseason, teams that are above the apron cannot execute a sign-and-trade of their own FAs that does not immediately get them under the apron.

It works the other way.  You can sign and trade your own player, but you can't trade for a player that is signed and traded by another team.

Theoretically, the Lakers could get back under the apron by using amnesty on Artest and by waiving Duhon before his contract for next year becomes fully guaranteed, although I think they still might also need to release the cap holds of some of their own FAs.

So Rondo, Smith, and Howard.

That'd be a great shooting team.  ::)
Disaster.

At the free throw and 3PT lines, sure.  However, their FG% begs to differ.

For me, really good and exciting team is what comes to mind.

If you had a prime Reggie miller and Ray Allen filling out the starting 5

Another ridiculous trade scenerio.  Why in the Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. would those teams make those trades.  Please people.

Add Bradley to the mix and whoa baby. However, with a lineup of rondo Bradley green smith and Howard, green would be initiating most of the offense with his ISo play. The rest of the team would be running and gunning led by rondo. Can't say I wouldn't like to see that team with terry, bass and sully off the bench.

Remember, being a celtic is being a warrior, have composure and listen to your coach.
I don't see this drama queen having any of those qualification. He's just a spoiled brat who wants the ball all the time. Not a fit.
