I'm on the Boogie Train right now.

I liked how he played coming off the bench behind Jokic last season, including in the playoffs against GS.  And by most accounts he was a strong clubhouse presence for Denver.  I think he clearly has more left in the tank than a guy like LMA, and I'd prefer to go for the guy who is definitely a rotation-caliber NBA player over a young project who might be useful at some indeterminate point in the future.

He's not without his baggage, but for the minimum you're either going to get baggage or you're going to get somebody who just isn't very good.  In this case I'll take the baggage.  I have confidence that Ime can keep him focused well enough.

We need someone that can rebound and play defense...not going to lie he was balling for the Nuggs in the playoffs this one game. I Will give him a shot.

Keith Smith's opinion on our options:  https://www.celticsblog.com/2022/7/6/23196646/boston-celtics-dwindling-backup-center-options

I really don’t know why Smith has bunch of guys on that list with salaries in the $7.5 to $12.5 million range.  We’re not going to pay $30-40 million in luxury tax for a #3 center/#5 big.

Anyway, if the Celtics are willing to go a couple million over the minimum for a guy, they should target Jeff Green, who’s been reasonably effective as a small-ball 5 in recent years.  Denver is in the luxury tax so he might be cheaply obtainable.

Omg Uncle Jeff is center now lol

Yeah, Jeff Green has been one of my targets for the TPE all along.  If Pagliuca wants to compete with his billionaire friends in Golden State, the ideal way to use the $17 million TPE would be on Josh Richardson and Jeff Green.

Timelord / Green / Kornet
Horford / Williams / Gallo / Hauser
Tatum / Richardson / (Williams)
Brown / White
Smart / Brogdon / Pritchard

Green a center

I can tell you the one we should not have signed,  Luke Kornet.

Good teammate, who knows the schemes and he's 7'2"...  4th string center...

I second that. Also - is Bruno Fernando terrible or could he play a mobile, backup big role? Luka Garza? I don’t like the vets that are left. Maybe C. Zeller, if I had to choose one. The more I think about it, the more I’m convinced that Gallo is the backup 5, but I think we need someone to fight Embiid. And yeah, Moses Brown would be my preferred choice, though i dont think he is strong enough for Joel. I wanted Ibaka as a veteran champion that defends and shoots threes  :(

Kamengele looks interesting as a developmental big. He’s long and seems like he has some shooting touch. But not sure if I’d feel comfortable with him at the backup to Horford and Williams. Think the guy be of the bench needs some more vets than developmental guys.

Agreed

To slow , way to slow , a slug.

Moses Browns energy rebounding even with no points put pressure on the other team, would be more beneficial than Kornet shooting a possible three and standing like a statue watching.

I liked Whiteside as a defensive option, but boogie played well against the Warriors i wished they signed him. Whiteside  didn't do much in the playoffs although small sample size.

Then again C's have Galo on the second unit so perhaps Whiteside as the better defensive option would be better

I would like to see Boogie here now. He can space the floor so you can play he and Rob at the same time, plays solid D, apparently good locker room guy with the nuggets. Got a bit of a mean streak which we need, but also will give up an extra 15 to 20 points during the season cause of technicals. lol

I would be absolutely fine with Boogie.

I'd rather Greg Monroe than LMA
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)
