I wasn't able to catch the game. Was Jajuan the garbage man tonight or was he actually getting playing time  :o Is Doc finally trusting everyone because I like the minutes distribution tonight...or was it because it was such a blowout?

No, Bass was out tonight b/c of a sore knee (not serious they say)... Doc was pretty much forced to use him!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Bass didnt play because of a sore knee , and no it wasn't garbage time at all .

He was actually guarding Gasol in the post too and got a block and forced Gasol into another turnover.  The kid has a very good offensive game already and he can really run and jump

Doc was kidnapped and replaced by an alien imposter ;D.

But seriously I'm happy for JJ and BOS.

as has been pointed out with evidence sooooo many times on this board - the above statement is not accurate. avery seems to get quite a few minutes just this year.

anyway...

3J... it was good to see him play in something other than mop up time. the guy is good offensively and can shoot well. his shooting should get even better as he practices and plays more. i am really happen with his offense.

i was not overly impressed with his defense. he seems lost on a number of switches, his man just blew by him too often, and under the basket he just wasnt all that tough or strong.

some of this will probably be fixed by more playing time. he will learn the defensive switches, get coaching on how to keep him man in front of him, blah, blah.

but right now on offense, he doesnt even come close to bass' play under the basket. when bass gets the ball down low he is determined to power his way to the hoop. jjj doesnt have that sort of determination and strength.....yet.

i think 3j will be a good player, but he as lot of hours in the gym ahead of him.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I agree but still think he could contribute for us if even just a bit, not that you said he can't but others have. There will be tough stretches with the whole 5 6 games in 7 nights you don't want to run KG and Bass to the ground.

KG is averaging 30.5 minutes and Bass is averaging 29.2 minutes.  I think it would not help Johnson very much if you stole a couple of minutes from both to give Johnson five minutes per game.  It would be better to make KG or Bass inactive for even the mildest, non-serious of problems that even Jermaine O'Neal would play through and have Johnson get a nice ten or fifteen minutes where he is in there for at least five minutes at a time so he can get into the rhythm of the game.

We'd all like to see it but I bet he goes back to the pine after Bass returns.

agree to disagree I think he could eat up some minutes depending on matchup and schedule especially since ya know JO is bound to go down for weeks at some point better to get his feet wet. plus a spry not as beat up kg down into the playoffs is never a bad thing.

I would let Bass and JO  rest against the Bobcats and play the heck out of Micheal P, Wilcox and JJ and alot of Moore.

Get JO rested as good as possible for LA.

I don't think JO going down is what gets JJJ that many more minutes.  Johnson had a DNP - coach's decision in all four games O'Neal has missed.  When JO misses a game, Wilcox gets the plurality of the minutes, KG plays more minutes at center rather than PF, Bass has his PF minutes go up to compensate, and Stiemsma gets some time.

If JO is out, what gets Johnson more minutes is if another big is also unavailable, or if Bass or KG are in foul trouble.  I think the way to get Johnson minutes is for Doc to commit giving KG complete games off.  For example, making KG inactive in one of those second games of a back-to-back in that tough stretch in March when they play four games in six days, get a day off, then play eight road games in thirteen days.

If Bass and/or KG isn't right or playing well JJJ may get some minutes at PF.

Doc seems to be comfortable with O'Neal, Garnett, and Wilcox at the Center position. He'll also play Garnett, Bass, and Wilcox at PF ahead of JJJ. I don't think he'll ever put JJJ in at C, unless the other team is going small.

So really if both Bass/Wilcox/KG are dressed he's not going to get much time as things currently stand. Still given the nature of this season he'll have a chance to play himself onto the court.
