So with all this talk about where Rozier stands, I wanted to compare him to someone I felt had a similar game. besides playmaking, I feel their size and explosiveness is fairly similar. Is it fair to say their on similar levels? I'm comparing these two to try and better gague where Rozier stands amongst pgs

Edit: wrong forum. Was thinking DSJ.

Smith is both a better, more explosive and controlled athlete and a more skilled and patient player. I don't think they will be in the same stratosphere before long.

Yeah, Smith is basically better at everything when compared to Rozier. Smith could be a Steve Francis level player, whereas its highly unlikely Rozier can get to that level.

Smith is light year's better on every way. Nothing to compare between them.

I'm not the biggest Rozier fan but I think he is the better rebounder of the two.

I think it's hard to really see how good of a rebounder Smith is until we see him at the NBA level. From a college perspective the two were very similar, so I can't say.
That being said, Rozier is a very strong rebounder for a guard.

I would trade rozier and then some for smith.

I've read this a couple times. He also could be way better. Francis was fun, productive, and flashy, but not for a long time. Smith could be a legit all star pg in the mold of chris paul. You might not see it, but it could happen.
I wanted Tatum, Jackson, or Smith b/c of their confidence. This team needs to develop a young scorer. I think Tatum will be fine.

I love the kid, but the comp is in part so accurate because of Francis' short career. DSJ is just as reliant upon his athleticism so his already once-torn ACL is a major concern.

They're both great athletes, but the similarities end there. DSJ is more skilled in every way. I bet he'll be better as a rookie than Rozier will be as a 3rd year player.

I agree that he is more patient, but BOTH are very impatient and petulant players. DSJ was a turnover machine at NC State. My son was a freshman there and saw him play quite a bit.

Having seen DSJ play a lot on TV (I am a huge NC State fan and live 2 hours away. My oldest brother was a Chemical Engineering grad in the mid-1970's and my daughter was a Chem E grad in 2012 and my son is a sophomore in Electrical Engineering.) My son saw him play in person quite a bit. Rozier is a FAR superior rebounder at this point.

DSJ seems to me to be MUCH STRONGER!! Rozier is more lanky and lean, but DSJ seems very strong and compact to me.

Maybe I'm missing something, but why is this thread in Celtics History?

It's one of the worst player comparisons in history.

That's funny.

Rosier's growth curve has been quite impressive. D league one year, getting minutes in the ECF the next.
Don't bet against this guy.

This might be the hardest I have ever laughed reading one of these posts, TP!

Im sure you made all perfect comparisons over your 5k post. Also, if you put two exact NBA teams together and have Rozier and DSJ playing PG, you be suprised how close they may preform at current levels. But I respect your opinion
