According to multiple sources Julius Randle asked to be renounced by the the Lakers once it became clear his role could dramatically change this season and the team wasn’t interested in making a longer term commitment to him.

They preferred Randle at 9 million vs Cousins at 10-12. That's got to tell you something.

Tyreke Evans has reportedly signed a 1-year deal with the Pacers, reports @SneakerReporter.

Oh wow. Pacers might end up being the toughest competition in the East. While not the West, a 𝚃𝚘𝚙-4 of Boston, Toronto, Philly, and Indy is certainly still formidable.

I was worried about the Pacers going hard after Smart.  Can we take them off the smart list after this signing?  And yes, the Pacers are going to be sneaky good.

I like Tyreke, but he’s gotten a bit overrated around here.  Yes, he shot the ball great last year, but he’s a career 31% shooter from 3, and even after the new year his shooting had dipped below 35%, much closer to his career average, or even his more recent trend, than the 43% he shot for the first couple of months.  On top of that he played all of 52 games last year, coming off of seasons where he played in only 25 and 40.  He still does other things well enough, but he’s primarily depth.

I’m sure he’ll have his uses, but he does not turn the Pacers into a team that challenges Boston, Toronto, or Philly.

How much? Does this take them out of Marcus Smart bidding?

Agreed about the overrated part. Also, the reputable sources haven't confirmed the Tyreke deal.

He is a good on-ball defender, that should help them.
