Dream Trade Proposal: Ray + Young Chips For Carmelo /Hunter/Filler

Given the recent rumor about Steven Hunter, plus Ray's salary comparable to Caremelo's + Hunter, has Ainge acquired enough young chips yet to entice Denver to go into rebuild mode a year early? If Iverson is unlikely to be re-signed, Denver is facing a rebuilding project unless they can trade Iverson. Once the 60-day sigining deadline is passed, could Powe, Giddens, Walker, Pruitt, and future picks be enough of a package to temp Denver? Probably not, but it's nice to dream.

Yeah, but I see Pierce as way more effective at the 3. Plus Melo doesn't exactly have a lock down reputation. I hate this trade as well.

Like most other Celtics trade I've seen proposed on this blog, I'll say "heck no!". Melo? No thanks. I'd like to see him even try fit in the Celtics system, I just don't see it though.

I'd rather see AI coming to Boston if we were going to break up the Big 3. Iverson plays best at SG anyways, and with Rondo dishing the ball so well, we could do great with him. Plus he could come off the bench if needed and let Giddens or Tony Allen take that starting roll to get the game going, then sub in AI to get 20 ppg off the bench and get 6th man of the year...Melo has game, but I don't like it. Plus neither him or Pierce could do well at SG.

Paul's not a great 2, he can play it the same way kobe plays the 3. very well, but not as good as his natural position. no need to make this trade for another SF, espically one who thinks defense is a dirty word.

unnecessary trade that weakens us mightily to add a great scorer where we already have a great scorer. pass.

Uh, no, he's really not. How is he selfish? He's one of the top offensive players in the entire league - and on top of that, he is an excellent rebounder for his position. He's not great defensively but I'm sorry, he's not any worse than Ray Allen was with Seattle or Milwaulkee. He's an excellent young player.
