On the one hand Tatum is killing it today, on the other hand he has no FTA's and his offense today has largely been built on hitting jump shots. He has three field goals at the rim, one in transition, one off an offensive rebound (where I think he pushed a guy), and another on his one good half court take to the rim. 9 times out of ten if he plays this way he's gonna be like  6 or 7 of 14 for 14-16 points. So I dont know. I just want to see him attack the rim.

Not to take away from Tatum's stellar half, but his regression on defense is troubling. In a way, you wonder if his player comparison may actually be similar to Carmelo Anthony (great scorer, has size and can rebound, but horrid defense).

I'm not sure what bothers me more, that he doesn't stay in front of anybody on ball or that he just routinely is nowhere near his guy off ball. His on ball defense last year was never that good, but I thought his off ball defense was a positive. This year not so much.

Part of it is also him complaining to the refs or being way too late to react on a miss and therefore getting burned on the other end ultimately allowing an easy bucket. I remember last year he looked a lot more engaged and hustled every minute regardless.

It's mid-March. A month left in the semester for me. Busy busy. Like 8 games left in the regular season.

At this point, just bring on the dang playoffs.
