Man, tonight confirms that the Rondo trade was basically a complete failure for the Mavs.  Remember when he was a top 5 pg in 2012?  Specifically in the conference finals against Miami?

I didn't foresee him falling off THIS much.  He SHOULD have cost himself a lot of money this summer, but that doesn't necessarily mean a stupid team still won't overpay for him.

I mean, there's no sugarcoating it.  Basically ever since coming back from the ACL injury, he's been a team killer.  He doesn't defend anymore, he's still a subpar jump shooter, he somehow has gotten worse at the free throw line, he's still dominates the ball way too much, he's still a dink to his coaches.  It's amazing that a guy like that at a still relatively young age may already be on the decline

First time I've ever enjoyed watching Josh Smith play.  The guy is talented.

I'm trying to think of another example of a player just imploding like Rondo has.  Deron Williams?  But at least Deron got paid, didn't leave behind a situation where he was basically a "made man" and DWill has recovered after a slump to be an average to better-than-average point guard.

You know you're defense is terrible when Josh Smith is picking you apart with his passing..

I can't decide who's game is worse now. Rondo or Josh Smith.

Smith has more assists than Rondo

Well playoff Rondo might still exist in the minds of some diehard fans ...

But MAX Contract Rondo ....is no longer a reality .....so long big money
For such a smart dude(suposedly), it was a curious misstep to want to test free agency. Especially coming off an injury.

He could have played Danny for some big money at one point.....if he had shown energy and leadership ...I think that ship sailed with the dumb comment about not play n defense for years .

He has been his own worst enemy
between that comment and his recent play, he probably cost himself 10 mil a year. And if the Lakers don't want him, who is going to sign him?

I was huge Rondo fan before the tear down of the Celtics and his injuries .   His attitude is disgusting....for a guy who had it all going his way.   Rondo has a lot of damage control to turn his career around .   I don't like his body language ......this is playoffs ......he seems disconnected during playoffs......which is a bad sell to any GM

So this is the third huge mistake Cuban has made IMO.

The first was undervaluing a future two time MVP and not resigning him.

The second was breaking up that championship team for a chance to get Deron Williams. That never happened.

Lastly trading for Rondo and messing up team chemistry, for a team who played almost as efficiently as Golden State, on offense before Rondo arrived.

Yeah all that MINOR  pushing , picking , elbowing isn't even worth a foul ...if the ball is not even in play .

I like seeing the guys play it out .

Yep. And I'm wondering why he's on the baseline. I'm guessing there were some words at halftime and his teammates told him to not sit on the bench. Just an odd situation here.

This may come out and add to his bad rep.
