If in the off-season the 76ers made one of the two available who would you want in a trade? Perhaps neither given the cost involved? Who do you think Philly would keep out of Ben Simmons or Joel Embiid?

I see big red flags on both ....

Embiid is an injury risk and he acts like a child very often.

I don't mind that simmons is a poor shooter but i don't like the fact that he doesnt even try to get better

If i had to choose i think i'd go with Embiid

Embid is the better player but if you look at trade return and injuries you might stick with Simmons and deal Embid.

I feel 76ers rushed the process and should have waited one more year to tank. They made moves too quickly for high salary guys without seeing Simmons or Fultz fully developed.

Place Matisse Thybulle on the list and I'll choose then.

Depends who else im looking at .

Simmons went off on the Lakers .  I was impressed with how easy  he can make difficult plays look easy .  He hit most his FT and rebounded well.   Like Irving or Bron , he needs dribbles and the ball alot to score .  Building around him is more difficult IMO , his style negates alot of younger players being involved.

Embiid would work better with the players Celtics have now .

So i guess i d take Embiid on that hunch he fit with current group a bit better.

Yup.  Based on off-season rumors, this was the year that Simmons was going to unveil a 3-point shot, or at least start taking them.  Didn't happen.  He is a flawed player and IMO will never live up to hype.

Neither - I prefer our own guys.

Simmons due to his lack of a jumper and need to have his whole team built around him. Limits options. Questionable upside.

Embiid due to his health and conditioning. I don't trust him to stay healthy long enough to justify giving up our top players for him.

Embiid would be hands down the better fit for the C's. But then again, in 5 years' time he might not even be in the league (based on his injury history).

Imo, Simmons surrounded by 4 shooters would transform into an MVP candidate. If we traded for him, we would have to reshape our roster. What this means is that we'd probably have to sacrifice Smart, possibly even Brown.

Salary-wise, Brown + minor filler for Simmons would be a valid trade this summer.

I really don't know whether it would be worth it. Gun to my head, I'd do it.

Kemba for Simmons straight up would work as well.

If we are talking about who I'd rather have on my team or who I'd rather trade for my answer is different.  I would not want to trade for either.  Risky trading within the division.  It's hard enough seeing Al on Philly.  I wouldn't be able to stand Tatum or Brown, Smart, Hayward on Philly.

Now if I have to choose one to build a team around it's Embiid all day.  He's a unicorn at his position.  I'm not a fan of Simmons and while I think he is a good player I don't think he's at Embiid's level.

Lol the question doesnt involve our own guys.

Embiid, despite the injury concerns. Bigger impact and huge talent disparity.

At this point, I would rather build around Simmons.  Sometimes the best ability is availability.

I don't wanna trade Kemba, but as a thought exercise, imagine playing Simmons with Hayward, Brown, Tatum, and Smart. That's almost completely positionless basketball.
