And aside from the whole semantics of this discussion, I don't see any inherent reason why KG can't recover to 100%.  Now granted if he has a more serious problem than any of us know it could be true, but while his age may make the recovery process longer, it shouldn't prohibit it entirely.

And Pierce said in an interview that KG was playing pickup basketball with his teamates and its understood that these were full court pickup games.  I think its easy to assume its not an NBA caliber game but knowing how competitive KG is I am sure he is pushing himself in these games.

Today's announcement that he's been playing 5 on 5 for at least a week kind of picks some holes in the OP. That said, he raised some valid concerns. My question for KPC would be, now, based on the new information released today at Media Day, has your opinion changed? I certainly shared some concern but today really went a long day toward eroding it.
Go Celtics.

Has this opinion changed at all?  After watching KG in the preseason, people have to be encouraged, right?

I rest a little easier with each passing game. He looked the most spry he has so far tonight.

To be honest I'm not worried anymore. From what I'm seeing Garnett is exactly where the team said he was. It seems that the team has been very honest with the injury reports and updates. Right now they are saying  that  Garmett's supposed to be strengthening the knee, regaining his court awareness, and stamina. I'm going to believe that because that truly seems to be the case. As far as I'm concerned the knee is a non-issue, KG will be fine by the seasons start.

Everything is as this surgery goes. The knee is fine.  He's looking good, running the floor, playing defense, shooting, rebounding.  I guess that number five guy is playing like KG.

Overall the team looks more impressive with each game.

Thanks Roy for bringing this thread back.

I think we got Sheed as an anchor for the 2nd unit and a potential 6th man of the year.

It's a complete assumption that it was only because we feared KG was not right. I think Danny and Doc saw KG's progression and weren't worried about him as many of us were who were not "in the know" so to speak.

This was not directed at you by the way, Bass Thumper.  It was aimed at this doomsday thread.
