saw it a couple of weeks ago.  thought they did a good job as a follow up to The Shining.

and I agree -- she was excellent.  I think she's got a bright future ahead of her in Hollywood

Vivarium on Amazon Prime. A movie about a couple looking for a house and find a nice looking suburban neighborhood with not a single soul and then can't leave the place. I have to admit that was one of the freakiest movie I have seen. So much so that about 40 minutes into it, I just Google the end so I didn't have to watch it. If you are into a good horror in terms of just freaky movie, I would recommend it.

"The Rental"

Saw it at the local theater twice. Pretty cool seeing a new indie film in a mainstream theater. Was tense and well-acted. Liked seeing Lip from "Shameless " get a good role.

Glad I watched it a second time, it was a really different experience due to knowledge of the twists and ending. It really put certain aspects into a different perspective.

Also saw Gremlins and Goonies at the theater. Saw Empire Strikes Back, Neverending Story, 1917, Invisible Man all at the drive-in, a venue I can't reccomend enough. Really great experience.

There's just something incredibly satisfying about sitting in a lawn chair watching a movie on a giant screen while chugging beer and eating hot dogs. Very American.

Invisible Man in particular was fantastic.

Godzilla vs. Kong.

If you think you might like this...  you will LOVE it.  The fight scenes are epic.  I can’t even imagine what this would look like in IMAX.

A Monster Calls on Netflix. One of the saddest and more tear jerking movies I have seen in a long time. Certain parts struck way to close to home and dealt with issues I had in my life.

A tremendous movie.

Spinster starring Chelsea Peretti.

You may know her as Gina on Brooklyn Nine Nine.

She's really good.  Fun, chill movie.  A nice weekday evening watch.  Recommended.

Godzilla vs Kong.  My 6 yr old is infatuated with Godzilla.  Pretty good action movie.

Quo Vadis, Aida?

Found on Amazon Prime and had been hoping to watch it for awhile. It’s about a fictional interpreter working for the UN during the lead-up to the (very tragically nonfictional) Srebrenica genocide in Bosnia in 1995. Its a narrow scope - takes place over only a day or two, in basically one location. Mostly in Bosnian with subtitles but some English too. My wife is from Bosnia and it was a tough, emotional watch for both of us, but an excellent film. Not gory or graphic at all but definitely wrenching and difficult, especially if you’re already familiar with the situation. It’s gotten an Oscar nom for the international category, I think well-deserved. Not a Hollywood film.

I did see it in our IMAX, and it was preposterous (in a fun way).
