I just realized i wrote a 4 post essay defending Antoine in ways without realizing he was my username.  I've always liked all celtics and more defended a principle as far developing players and people and giving them a fair shot here.  Personal responsibility and everything in between.  More just caring and giving a crap about these guys and trusting our own brains on who we draft etc.  I don't even remember why I chose this username just remember those days very well and the amount of strife with the fans around the internet regarding those teams and I used to really dislike the finger pointing.

The one i really didn't like was when we got Dominique Wilkins.  That was the worst putting fans in the seats move the celtics made.  It wasn't so much about Dominique as it was why that move was made.  This team was really bad then. This was even before we got Pierce or Walker. We had a bunch of young guys and no stars and were  reeling from the loss of Reggie Lewis at that point.  I actually liked those teams. We had a fun group of young guys before we even got Antoine and Pierce.  Even before Pitino came in and cleaned house.

Rick Pitino I actually gave a fair shot and understood his frustration with the fans but as I look back on it I'm glad the celtics aren't the kentucky wildcats.  I don't think Pitino understood the celtics mystique and more just wanted to be it.

We didn't win for a long period there.  It was pretty bad.  I don't think it was really Antoine's or Pierce's fault had we just kept developing what we were.

For some reason I just felt like when we got Dominique we started to lose hope or something.  Something changed there.  Pitino came in to rescue us like this savior and bleh.  Pitino had some fun teams early on too had he stuck with it but there was just so much impatience then.  We started making moves to draw fans and rush things. Paul Gaston was not an invested owner. The whole Vin Baker trade and everything was the team rushing it.

I liked Dominique on the Celts.  He was old; he wasn't expected to carry the team.

I really disliked Rasheed, Mikki Moore, and Blount towards the end.

I also wasn't a fan of Shaq here or Marbury.  I just didn't like those moves.  We had Perk and Tony Allen and Posey and instead decided to make those kind of moves to put players around Pierce, Ray and KG.

Couldn't stand Mark Blount.   Never had an issue with Rasheed for some reason. Doesn't make sense.

But even Ainge had taken some time to get back to the celtics way of doing things.

I guess what I'm saying is I hope the celtics stay patient and not have an agenda towards certain players and trust our own brains on why we draft guys and liked them in the first place. Nothing is 100 percent and better moves can be made though.

Red was always a master at drafting and picking his spots where to make those moves. But loved his players and had their best interests in mind.

DA has been pretty good at trading guys to good situations and doing that and wanting players to be accountable as well.  I wonder about the accountability part sometimes. He is sometimes too patient but he's developing players slowly and it takes time.  Some of these players coming in need to learn how to shoot and everything in between.

We lack that tom brady type of player though who is really accountable. Brady just had that in him from the get go and could back it up.

Todd Day.

Then probably Vin Baker or Mark Blount.

Todd Day was terrible.  Glad Pitino got rid of him.

I just went through every roster since 2000 and I have to say that it's a three way tie between David Lee, Mark Blount and Evan Turner.

Rasheed Wallace and Jermaine O'Neal come to mind.

Rick Fox, Brian Shaw, Bob McAdoo and Gary Payton.  Brandon Bass is #5 on the list.
