Title: Could Lebron take a similar paycut as KD
Post by: Fireworks_Boom! on June 08, 2018, 12:45:51 PM
This is a new an interesting angle to think about which could assist with the alignment of a trade package that would not be a gross overpay given we are required to shed salary to engage LBJ.

KD signed for 2 years and $51m ($25.5m/year).

We could easily arrive @ $25.5m without losing a large contingency of players. For example:

Marcus Morris ($5.375)
Guerschon Yabusele ($2.667)
Abdel Nader ($1.378)
Marcus Smart S&T ($15.75 per annum)

The $15.75m is not as large of an overpay for a glue, defensive, ball handler as you might think. Those contracts add up to $25,170,000.

Thoughts?

We could roll out:

Kyrie Irving
Gordon Hayward
Lebron James
Jayson Tatum
Al Horford

Bench: Jaylen Brown, Terry Rozier, Daniel Theis, Semi Ojeleye, Aron Baynes (resign MLE)

Deal Lord that roster is insane.

Smart's contract counts as half the value in a sign and trade, so no your trade doesn't work.

No. Lebron has publically stated he believes the max is a payout for him, and wants the max salary limit to go away . He wants it to be like baseball
