Hay...
Can annyone remember some old Celtics related trade proposals that didn't come true?

I just read an old Dražen Petrovi? interview in which Petro said that Boston offered Portland Michael Smith and first round pick for him in 1991. when Adelman burried Petro on the bench (Drexler, Porter, Ainge).
I'm sure Bird would LOVE Petrovic...and he and Reggie would be killer 1-2 punch...
If that trade come...Petrovic woudn't die in crash in 1993... and he and Dino Radja...
That would be a dream for Celtics fan in Croatia...two favourite players Bird and Petro playing together...

There is always the Paul Pierce for the draft rights to Chris Paul in 2005 that nearly happened.
Ray Allen for OJ Mayo that fell through
Ainge always mentions the late eighties how he would have traded Bird and McHale if he was the GM at the time.No cigar from Red
