C’s-related, these are my hopes:
1. Kyrie, GH and Theis all recover 100%
2. We sell high on Rozier and other parts to make a mid-splashy trade (ala Bradley for Morris)
3. We resign Smart at a reasonable contract (not 14+ please)
4. We keep Monroe as a backup. We let Nader go (back to the D league?). Larkin, I’m indifferent.
Non-C’s related, these are my hopes:
1. Lebron leaves Cleveland for Houston
2. Toronto blows it up. It ain’t working, boys!
3. JJ Redick leaves Philly. He’s a classy guy and doesn’t seem like a culture fit in PhiLA
4. Klay Thompson leaves GSW (lol)
5. Kawhi comes back healthy, in a Spurs uniform or otherwise
6. Sacramento implodes, unwittingly making themselves the worst team in the league next year.
6) Sacramento won't be the worst team and they have no incentive to tank.
Wasn't that said about the Nets in 2017?
Yep and 2016
This idea that teams with no incentive to tank won't stink up the joint is out of touch with reality, there have been countless teams through the decades with no incentive to tank but have coughed up high lottery picks to other franchises.
Brooklyn the last 3 years
The Nets in 2012 in the Gerald Wallace trade
The Nets in 2011 in the Deron Williams trade
The Knicks in 2006 & 2007 in the Eddie Curry trade
The Grizzlies in 2003 to the Pistons for Otis Thorpe
Going back further you had the Clippers in 1986, Cavs in 1982, Detroit in 1980 , The Jazz back in 79 .
All those teams had no incentive to tank, but they sucked anyways.
Not to say that the Kings are going to be a dead certainity to finish as one of the bottom 5 teams in the league, but incentive or not , if they suck they will suck incentive or not, There is still a at a maximum 14% chance that the 76ers will end up with the top pick, something for the Process supporters to cling to
