I really loved what Chris Wilcox brought to the floor for us last year. He showed a lot of speed, athleticism, and energy. Unfortunately, it took him a while to get in the groove of things, and then once he did, it wasn't long before he was lost for the season with that heart ailment.
I do worry about how much he'll be able to contribute this year. He's always been injury prone, and what's worse for me is that in the interviews I've seen with him since being cleared to play, frankly, he seems nervous and gun shy. The doctors may have cleared him to play, but he doesn't seem like he's put that scary heart condition behind him.
I haven't felt any of that itching to get back on the court with a brand new chance hunger from him that Jeff Green has been exuding so far in the preseason.
Time will tell. I'm rooting for him, but I'm glad we got Darko, too. They are totally different players, but I think we might end up relying on the big, crazy Serb quite a bit this season.
