4% increase and moved from front row to second row. I'm going to flip out on my rep, who has been terrible about calling me back.

Mike

That sucks. 2nd row to 5th row here...I don't get what the deal with this renovation is. Are they cutting the number of seats?

TP for your pain. ;)

Here's what little I found out. Note that I'm in section 9, so not everything I say will be applicable.

10% of STMs were affected. They did manage to keep the same number of seats, but because of construction, things got moved around. For instance, they're building a tunnel next to my section. STMs who got moved got prioritized by their tenure. Sadly, the people next to me who got the front row must have had more tenure than I do.

Mike

That's good info. I'm sure that's more than what I'll get out of my rep. It feels unfair that they didn't just shift everyone a little instead of us all alot. Like I would feel better about being bumped from the 2nd to the 3rd row. How much tenure do you have? This is my 4th season, which isn't much I suppose!

I'm at 7 years.

It does kind of suck. I guess in my case, there was nowhere to shift me to.

That's about the biggest that I've had in the past. Maybe a few percent higher.

9.5% increase here from $84 to $92 for center balcony row 2 this season.  Bummer.  Not yet decided on renewal decision, although leaning towards renewing.  Can't imagine I'll keep renewing if this keeps up.  No seat change at least.

Decided to drop back down to a half season. Strongly considering just dropping my season tickets completely, the up-charge for the product is laughable.. I doubt there will be a wait list by the end of the season.

I dont enjoy going to games anymore, and unloading tickets has become a chore.

I'm not having a lot of fun this season, either. Certainly after last year, the excitement was built way up. I renewed for next year, on the hopes that either they'll have AD and Kyrie, or dump Kyrie and go back to being fun again.

I think the increase in prices is an indication that the Celts will be getting AD.

My seats have gone from an average of $80 per game to $120 per game in 4 seasons following the 9% increase this year.

They are gonna have a lot of empty seats next year if they get bounced early in the playoffs.

I think the increase in prices is a case of "because they can." They have a waiting list a mile long, so if I don't renew, somebody else will take my spot. It's simple supply and demand. When the team is lousy, they reduce my prices. When the team is good, or at least improving, they raise them.

Exactly!

So why are the Celts increasing prices right now when the Celts are lousy?

This is worst season for Brad and the Celts since 2014-15.

They didn't reduce my prices when we were lousy.  When we traded KG and Pierce to Brooklyn, they raised my prices the next year.  I was outraged and cancelled for a few seasons, then bought back in 3 years ago.

I don't get season tickets but go a bunch during the year, if a bunch is 5 games or so. But, I have to say, the Garden is an awful place to go see a game. No not the atmosphere, which can be electric, but the place itself, the Garden, is just awful. It was not good when it opened and it hasn't aged well. I have only been to about 6 other arenas to watch an NBA game, but they were all way better than the Garden.

Celtics have like 5th highest ticket prices in the league with one of its worst facilities. Sadly, a new Garden probably won't even be discussed for the Garden for another 30 years because the Jeremy Jacob is so cheap and because, God only knows where they would build a new arena. Maybe in Everett next to the casino?

I'd be pretty upset.

I don't see how a ST holder with seniority gets pushed further away from the court as opposed to closer.

Where are they going to place you for the 2020/21 season? In the parking lot?

Not right.

Big renovations inside the arena are coming I think in time for next season.  Wider concourse aisles with a much larger variety of concessions, public seating/bar areas, etc.  Looking forward to seeing it.
