I think Smart's skillset is a lot rarer than Randle's.


 Please explain.  Smart is a good defender, solid passing PG that can't really shoot.

 How is that harder to find than a 25 ppg 10 rpg 4 apg, PF that can handle, pass, shoot, post, at 6'8" 250 pounds.

Randle is a very gifted scorer. He's also an inconsistent ballstopper whose defense ranges from pretty good to actively bad. His best attribute as a player is his scoring ability but he's not good enough at that to ever be the #1 option on a contender. There are lots of players in the NBA you could say that about.

Smart is the reigning defensive player of the year. A pg who can direct championship-caliber offense on one side of the ball, with the abiliity to defend both guards and wings at an elite level then even switch onto bigs without breaking a sweat. It's a much rarer skillset.
