Zeke Nnaji

He is my 7th (6th if you count Poku) big on my big board. He is a young big man who measured really well

6’10” without shoes
7’2” wingspan
247.8 pounds

For his size he moved really well in college and looks like a player who can move well enough to defend the P&R while also having the size to protect in drop coverage. The key to unlocking him in the NBA is his rumored 3pt shot.  While he didn't really shoot 3s in college he did shoot 76% from FT line and has long been rumored to be a shooter. Most workout reports and videos seem to validate that he will be a stretch big in the NBA.

I like Nnaji. Glad they are looking at him. I don't fully understand why he's not higher with his size, athleticism, abilities, and efficiency. Makes me wonder if there's something we don't know.

Ok. I hope that's the case. Let's assume it is. If it is, everything I've seen indicates he's a late-lottery talent. He's similar to Jalen Smith in my armchair evaluation. I'd take him before Carey, Poku, or Stewart. I think you can certainly make arguments that he's a better big man prospect than Achiuwa or Patrick Williams (although both those guys project as a swing more). I also think there is an argument to be made for Nnaji as a better overall prospect than Toppin (although I'd probably lean Toppin first).

He's really good. He's a good finisher. He's an versatile guy defensively because of his athleticism. He draws fouls really well inside and has a developing jumpshot.

He played well against Okongwu(and vice versa) the two times they met. You can tell Nnaji is a legit 6'11 as he had that size adv over 6'9 Okongwu. Broader shoulders also

Mock drafts compare him to PJ Brown ceiling. And that looks very good comparison imo. He can hit mid range and 3s (though small sample). Good at setting picks and busy on the floor doing the other little things.  Fighting for rebounds

While pretty mobile/agile... is not explosive.  Is not a very good shot blocker.  But good rebounder due to motor, physicality, size

All in all, not a bad idea at 26

Devon Dotson

Dotson fits the is an athletic guard who like many Ainge picks shows promise but didn't shoot the 3 well in college. With a 6'3" wingspan he doesn't have the length DA usually looks for out of PG prospects.

Wingspan is important with versatility on defense. A short armed PG is limited in their ability to play up. Aigne has historicly drafted + length smaller guards. Rondo, Bradley, Smart,  Rozier and Edards. This is not to say he wont draft Dotson I just wanted to point out its not in DAs normal player profile.

You’re ignoring the wing span of 2 of the top point guards in the nba. Wingspan is important in other positions but teams don’t factor it in much for PG position unless it is strictly for defensive purposes. Like Smart.

I’m not ignoring it I’m simply pointing out that Ainge has historically drafted PGs with ++wingspans.

True.
