I mean why does it matter? Sure it stinks not getting a medal but I don’t see why it affects the Celtics season moving forward.

I don't see it as bad. In sports favorites can lose to underdogs at times especially if it's not a series. If you love basketball and the USA you love how this game has grown to be a global one. For the Celtics this was experience.

The Celtics future core couldn't beat some random guys from France

Imagine if it was KG/pierce/ray losing to france

Rofl. It’s especially funny that this narrative comes out because you don’t really need to imagine - Pierce, Ben Wallace, JO, Reggie Miller, Elton Brand and Baron Davis already did similarly in 2002.

Except Pierce got benched for clashing with the coach, which is undoubtedly worse than having Tatum injured.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Key word that you said is ‘future’.  The only guy that has maxed out his talent yet is Kemba, and he is probably gone by the time Tatum and Brown are at their peak.  So no, not worried.

I like what I saw from Kemba for the most part. His defense is not great with his size but I don’t THINK him being too ball dominant will be an issue. I’m way more about Hayward anyways. To me he’s clearly the next best player on the team and I don’t think it’s close.

Giannis lost to the teams with washed up NBA players. I guess it made him worst. Middleton and Lopez are also playing for the USA. The Bucks is definitely doomed too.

I don't think it affects our season. If anything I think it's good to taste some defeat. It will teach them a bit of humility and reinforce the lessons of last year that talent doesn't mean anything unless you work hard and work together to succeed. I hope it helps them realize that nothing is given in this world, everything has to be earned.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Brown was all over the place in terms of his performance offensively.   We need consistent Brown.

That's apples and oranges... unless you're saying that Smart/Tatum/Brown as they are now, are at the same level as Pierce/Ray/KG when they were on Celtics? Walker hasn't even played a game as a Celtic

Even more so because Tatum didn’t play against France, and Kemba and Smart sat out the final game due to injury. I guess we can blame it all on Brown? He seems to be the latest in a long line of forum punching bags? Olynyk and Rozier are gone, Smart has improved, so it must be Jaylen’s turn.

Contract year so people are going to debate him and whether to play him big bucks or not.  Deal with it....
