BEAT LA! BEAT LA! BEAT LA!

Hey, the Dodgers still haven't won yet.

And they deserve nowhere near as much respect as your hometown Lakers.

It's actually been a Dodgers town post-Kobe and before the arrival of LeBron. Now, it's like 40/40, and the other 20 belongs to the Rams.

Conceivable:

Red Sox vs. Dogers (World Series)
Patriots vs. Rams (Super Bowl)
Celtics vs. Lakers (NBA Finals)

Prepare your vocal chords for some  “Beat LA” chants
I don't think I can imagine the sweetness of a 3-sport sweep of LA, lol.

That would be the sweetest!

Man, this could actually be the year where all four major Boston-sports teams bring home respective championships.

I'm happy with one or two, but four? Imagine that!

Best game I have ever seen Price pitch. It's like he got an infusion of ice-water in his veins. What a performance.

I think Price has finally endeared himself with Sox fans.  That will be great for him going forward as he'll likely be with the team for another 4 years.

Just another Price comment here, but just wow. When he has that changeup going he is really hard reaaally hard to hit.

Awesome story. Good guy with a nice chip on his shoulder. Fairytale stuff if he can pull that off again in Game 2 of the WS.

The dumbest stat in baseball is the "save".

In the postseason, Kimbrel has pitched in 4 games.  He's given up at least one earned run every game, with an ERA of 8.44.

Yet, he's 4 for 4 in saves, despite not doing his job in any of the 4 games.

I've been making this case on Over the Monster (SBNation's Sox blog), and a couple people there keep insisting that "it doesn't matter as long as he doesn't blow the save." To which I respond along the lines of: "Really? It doesn't matter that he's given up a run in every appearance? Or that he's issued tons of walks? Or that it took defensive miracles like Benintendi's catch to escape?"

That said, congratulations to the Red Sox on a well-deserved trip to the World Series!!!

Edit: I forgot to mention: I've been hard on Price, but he pitched GREAT last night. And other than a walk, Kimbrel looked a lot better than he has recently. It was also great to see JD go YAHD again.

Funny how there are, like, NO Chargers fans around L.A.!

What a game. You could sense the anxiety in the crowd, as they were desperately waiting/hoping for any reason to get into the game. David Price was virtually unhittable and completely took away any hope/fight from the Astros players and fans. I was so happy for him last night to finally get that weight off his shoulders.

I don’t agree with the narrative that there was no pressure on Price because his team was up 3-1. I think there was a lot of pressure to finish off the series last night, as there is a lot of doubt surrounding Sale’s health and anything can happen in a game 7. I like Lou Merloni’s theory that with only 3 days off, Price didn’t have to worry about overthrowing and effecting accuracy. From warming up in the bullpen in game 4, to him being the starter in game 5, he looked like he wanted to be out there, wasn’t afraid of the moment, and was confident. I could not have been happier for the guy. BTW, it was great after the game to see him in the hallway looking to find his family. Slowly, the crowd of team friends/family members parted ways to make room for Price’s wife and son.

It was also nice to see Jackie Bradley Jr get the ALCS MVP. I understand he only had 3 hits, but they were all devastating blows that also seemed to take away some of the Astros morale. He was struggling to hit for most of the first half of the season, but he stuck with it, and boy did it pay off.

Only a VERY few but I still think they should go back to San Diego. Man, during that Chiefs-Chargers game early this season, I just saw a sea of red in the stadium. And every Chargers home game is literally home-field advantage for the away team it's sad  :-[ Hate to say it, they look like the Clippers of football.
