The Maine Red Claws are opting out of the expected NBA G-League bubble, sources told The Athletic. The G-League does not yet have plans for a second phase of the season, so the team expect to punt on the season unless there are further developments.

As of now, the Red Claws organization continues to be on basketball hiatus. Last year’s head coach, Darren Erman, joined new coach Tom Thibodeau’s staff with the New York Knicks. The rest of Maine’s staff are still in wait-and-see mode as they explore options. G-League contracts are just for one season, so the team does not have a roster at the moment as well.

That's not good news for the G-league players, including Tacko and Tre.  :-\

Well that sucks, but I imagine there’s very little revenue without fans.

Do our two-way players play for other franchises?

I believe they will be all right. Last year 2 ways players could be with team for only 45 days, including non-game days, if I remember correctly.

This year I think they are allowed to play in 50 games.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Honesty not surprised. With the updated rules for two way players it probably means Tacko and Waters practice with the Cs pretty much all year.

They likely just spend more time with the Celtics, which could be a good thing.

I imagine it's because we may need to use our two way players early on while other guys like Kemba, TT, and Langford are out. With bubble regulations it would be hard to be shuffling them back and forth from the Red Claws.

What does this do for the two-way deals.  I was hoping one would steal the 15th roster spot and Yam's would get a two-way.

It just means they will be with the Celtics rather then having to travel to Maine.

Do they get paid though? I guess 2 days get paid even if they don't play for their G league team. Sucks for the other G league players though  :(
