We needed that win! Not excited to play the Raptors tomorrow, who'll almost certainly be pumped to beat us.

not worried about Raptors

they are in big trouble.  Siakam hasn't been the same ever since the Celts did a number on him

I watched the Raptors-Pelicans yesterday and the Raptors couldn't handle the length and size advantage of the Pelicans, but they played them tough til the end despite being down for most of the game. Fred VanVleet was great and looks to be the best Raptor at the moment. I don't expect an easy game at all. But pressure is on the Raptors and if the Celtics win they'll have a nice separation in the standings.

Glad to see that Brad shortened up the rotation and only played 9 guys. Was also glad to see Green and G-Williams were DNP’s. They should continue doing this.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

You’ll note that the Raptors immediately worked their way back into the game when Siakam fouled out.

He’s been really bad for them this year

Eeked out a win against a terrible team where the an incredibly hot handed shooter got only 2 4th quarter shots and was outshot by semi and by smart and by PP in the 4th.

Heck those three guys took more shots than either tatum or brown

Pistons are not terrible

They are like Pacers

Close

But need a proper all star, to close

They made a mistake not setting shots for Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk at the end. He looks to be their best under pressure shot maker

I was wondering why they yanked him towards the end of the game.

I think lots of folks here including me would have gleefully traded Brown for Siakem before last season started. Being a GM is tough business.

Is Blake Griffin toast?

Please no more trade proposals for him on this Board.

He is definitely rusty and almost mortal for a guy who rely's so much on his athleticism.

Detroit, is very doubtful, to be a playoff team.

A non playoff team is essentially terrible.

Cleveland, knicks, detroit are the worst of the east.

Yeah, Detroit sucks. They’re nothing like Indiana, who have multiple All-Star calibre players in Sabonis & Oladipo, as well as a number of strong role players like Brogdon, Warren & Turner.

I missed thegame. I read that Jaylen Brown top scored with 31points and Jayson Tatum got Celtics winning basket. Any other notable highlights ?

Vet privilege

Glad they didnt let Dombouya or Mykhailiuk shoot. And instead let Rose drive to a wall or Griffin take tough 2s

Green was out based on COVID protocols. Not sure what the deal is in Grant.

12-14 through 3 quarters and got 2 4th quarter shots.

Semi took more 4th quarter shots than Brown or Tatum.

Nesmith with no minutes AGAIN.

Semi has played more minutes this season than Nesmith a lotto pick who is only 21
Grant WIlliams (-10 net rating) has played more minutes than Timelord (+32 net rating)
Theis (-10 net rating) played more minutes than THompson (+2 net rating)

Team is ill prepared at start of games, 3rd quarters and collapse down the stretch.

Expect minutes from Nesmith tomorrow. Back to back. Guys tired.

Also may see Waters since Teague hurt.

The reason Semi is getting minutes over Nesmith is because, at this point in time, Semi is a much better NBA player....and it's not really even close, judging by how absolutely lost Nesmith has looked thus far. When it comes to Nesmith, Brad obviously is seeing the same thing in practice that we have witnessed in games. He has been awful.

That's not to say that Nesmith won't get better and be a better player than Semi at some point in the future. But, Nesmith isn't right now and until he gets his stuff together, he will rightfully be sitting and Semi will rightfully be getting playing time.
