Is Blake Griffin toast?

Please no more trade proposals for him on this Board.

Yup

From Dunk machine. To now strictly jump shooter?

He looks like one of the least athletic guys on the Pistons.
He almost relies entirely upon strength now. He's not quick, he's not fast in a straight line, and he doesn't have 10% of the vertical pop he used to. However, he still has a good handle and is strong as heck.

Nailbiter against a bad team but we have to start somewhere

Great game from the Jays, 23-38 combined. Tatum with 12 assists, that must be a career high? Great to see him making plays for others. And Jaylen couldn't miss. Solid contributions from Theis and Smartacus as well.

Special mention goes to Semi who channeled his inner Curry tonight. We needed those shots to keep in touch.

Yeah -- Semi's contribution was essential.  3-4 3's when it mattered.

That's the kind of game I like Tatum playing. Not incredibly efficient from the field, but he was dropping sweet passes, rebounding and making good defensive plays when it mattered. If he can stay engaged in all aspects of the game, shooting well or not, will dictate how good he can be.

Absolutely agree. Will he become a smarter player who focuses on what is helping on any given night instead of forcing himself on the game ?

Offensively, Daniel had a really nice game.  And the almost and one was clutch. Thies 15 points on 7-8.

Sorry but no for me

He scored and gave as much on the D end

Foul after fouls.  Losing defensive rebounds to Plumlee, Jeremi Grant.

He just cant come up with those crucial D rebounds.  And Pistons got multiple second chances

Timelord should have been inserted. Why is Brad hesistant to play Timelord late in the game?

If Jaylen keeps this up is he once more a candidate for MIP? Currently at 8 points above what he produced last year with improved passing (again) and insane efficiency.

Going to be hard to keep it up... but what if he did!

If he wants to go out and put up 27/5/3 for the whole season?  MIP might be the least of the awards he gets, haha.  Combine that with his defense and that's when you start talking about All-NBA teams and maybe even a few MVP votes.  He's on a hell of a run to start this season.

I sure hope so. A continued focus on play-making when Kemba returns would be dangerous!

Ha, yeah, he'd basically lock up an All-2nd Team spot with that kind of play!

We needed that win! Not excited to play the Raptors tomorrow, who'll almost certainly be pumped to beat us.

not worried about Raptors

they are in big trouble.  Siakam hasn't been the same ever since the Celts did a number on him

Eeked out a win against a terrible team where the an incredibly hot handed shooter got only 2 4th quarter shots and was outshot by semi and by smart and by PP in the 4th.

Heck those three guys took more shots than either tatum or brown

Pistons are not terrible

They are like Pacers

Close

But need a proper all star, to close

They made a mistake not setting shots for Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk at the end. He looks to be their best under pressure shot maker

what happened to Teague?

Sprained an ankle guarding Rose.  I think Rose landed on his foot or something.

Now in Toronto tomorrow.  Got to say a tough schedule to start the year.

Have to say that when the Jays score 55 on 23-38 (9-16 from 3) I would expect better than a 2 point win over the Pistons.

Really frustrating to watch Detroit's offense just thoroughly outplay C's defense.  All night.
Actually in Tampa.😄
