Probably for the best.  Man, I'm gonna miss that guy, though.  Entertaining as hell, both on & off the field.

Future HOFer.

He made the right decision.  Got paid, got rings, will get into Canton.  This decision will help ensure that he can maintain a decent quality of life moving forward.  Thanks for the memories Gronk!

Might signify the end of a dynasty with his retirement

Probably the Goat of TEs. Too bad he couldn't hold up for another one. He will be missed so much. Was great to watch a legit showman and competitor.

Even though I am not a Pats fan, hats off to Gronk.  One of the best TE's to play the game.  He was absolutely unstoppable at times, had great hands, was a great blocker when he needed to be.   A really hard guy to replace and someone that is really hard to dislike.  I am glad he is getting out now and he can have a retirement that is hopefully healthy and happy.

Probably best for him to go out on top and still feel relatively okay physically. One of the most entertaining players I've ever seen play and he is obviously incredible off the field, too.

We'll miss you, Gronk - you are leaving some enormous shoes to fill!

Gronk still hasn't spent a dime of his football earnings. He is still just 29 years old and he is feeling better than he has in years. He has a huge future in entertainment that he is already involved in.

Smart move by Gronk. He went out a champion.

Thank you Gronk for everything you gave us.

Yeah very glad he's done -- it became difficult to watch him over the last few years -- wondering with each hit if he was going to get hurt.  But... what a player! Absolutely a "man among boys" -- which is seriously saying something in the NFL.  Huge catch in the Super Bowl this year -- glad he had that final taste of glory.

Pats have their work cut out for them to build a quality receiving group for Brady this season.  A big trade is coming.

It's a good decision. What else does he have to prove? Absolutely nothing. Best to retire on your own terms, rather than being force to.

I think the Jared Cook negotiation had to do with him retiring. Cook going to Saints and mightve made BB force Gronk to make a decision like ASAP for cap space purposes.

I'd just draft two more OL another RB then all Defense. Give up on trying to throw 35+ times a game the QB is hitting 42. Get a mean run game.
