Johnny Most hated him as a player.  Said he was dirty.  Remember those broadcasts (late 60's) like it was yesterday.

Thought he was a really good coach.

I liked him a lot.  Too bad he bailed a little bit prematurely due to the Deron Williams conflict.  The Jazz used to be kind of amusing with Malone talking about his logging company and Harley all the time and Sloan wearing his John Deere hat at the post game press conferences.  Those two seemed made for each other.
