If this is legit, I hope we're not sign-and-trading for him.  That'd probably have to involve Green which puts us back to square one for a backup to Pierce.

we got Daniels to backup Pierce

Nearly every team is at "square one" right now...  That doesn't bother me in the least as more cuts will come and who knows what kind of activity might take place.  I'd rather get West first, and then worry about a backup wing that won't really play a lot of minutes anyway...

I'm hearing Green for West

I thought Green couldn't be traded if he accepted the qualifying offer? Or at least had to approve it or something? I may be wrong but that was my understanding.

I don't think he's officially signed it yet.  At least, I know he was held out of practice today due to the deal not having been processed.

What the heck? Wow, how did this even happen?

David West is taking the mini-MLE? That can't be. Can it?

If it were a sign and trade, the only guy I think can of to go the other way is Jeff Green.

As @Daldridgetnt reports, David West close w/ Celtics. Y! Sources say sides working on a sign-and-trade for a 3-year, $27-29M deal.

I love the versatiulity of Jeff Green's game.  I dont want a BIG coming off ACL that is on the wrong side of 30 instead of Jeff Green.  That deal sucks if its true.

This would be more than awesome. Oddly enough, I was thinking of other players we might be able to snag other than CP from New Orleans a few days back. This guy always burns us when he plays against us. I'm a fan, needless to say.

Love the Bass acquisition too.
Maybe it's Brandon Bass that is heading the other way. Bass and some cap filler (A.Bradley?).

New Orleans gets a well priced replacement power forward who is in the prime of his career. He is from the area (Baton Rouge), went to college at LSU and played there before (although failed to get off the bench).

I'd prefer that move - West would make Bass pretty redundant, we still could use Green.

We can flip Bass right away because he was the only one in the trade, right?  Is that how it works?
