Reports are that Kobe skipped his MRI yesterday and does not expect to miss anytime.

In reading the thread (and not having any knowledge of Twitter myself) - this is a fake?

No it was really posted by Brousard but has been removed since

So we can expect to see Kobe tonight even if he is hobbled..I expected as much. He'd have to have his leg removed before he sat out.

How does the news make it here if it was not accurate?
Someone posts it.

I think Kobe would play even if he'd just had his leg amputated.  Let's face it, Kobe is a gamer.

I don't see anything wrong with it. Broussard posting that Kobe is done for the playoffs, then ESPN taking it down is pretty newsworthy on a rainy tuesday.

On twitter, 2 wrestlers from the WWE's supplemental draft are trending. This could be the slowest news day of all time.

It does us a service, clarifies a rumor that seemed totally bogus is in fact totally bogus.

Thanks for changing it to (False Report) though... that makes it much easier to understand.

That it does.

It's also more inline with CelticsBlog rules when it's listed as false.

I'd prefer for Kobe to keep playing if he were severely injured.  That way, he'll still take a ridiculous number of shots but hardly make any of them.  He'll play 35-40 minutes every game and be a defensive liability because he's so hobbled.  The Lakers are conclusively worse with Kobe playing at 25% and still taking 50% of the shots.

To be fair to the OP, ESPN really did tweet that Kobe was done for the playoffs, so that report was not false at all. The actual words behind ESPN's tweet were false, but it you know..happened.

I'm really surprised Chris Broussard hasn't been sentences to whatever ESPN does to its employees that screw with their credibility. Feed them to interns? I dunno.
