I also believe the Warriors either 1 make the playoffs or 2 miss completely, like close to last place.

Caron Butler has a career year. He's the most underrated in the NBA in my opinion.

Some serious predictions to go with my earlier attempts at humour.

1. The Celtics win the championship.
2. The Spurs win the West.
3. LeBron is MVP.
4. Boston-Cleveland in the ECF.
5. Lakers-Spurs in the WCF.
6. Greg Oden is the surprise of the season, putting up excellent rebounding numbers, proving some solid offense and a huge defensive presence in the paint.
7. Chicago is the young team that emerges and finishes 4th in the ECF.
8. Portland doesn't implode and wins the Northwest Division.

One more last minute prediction - surprise team of the season will be the Pacers, I think they'll make some noise and be around the 5-6 seed in the East.  Remember they beat every elite team at least once last year.

As promised, I thought it'd be fun to bump this thread and see how everyone's predictions shook out.  Some high and lowlights:

Highlights:

lonelytoaster - Rondo will make the all-star team

-Mo Williams will not make the all-star team

Chris - Rajon Rondo is an All-Star in the East, and averages 13.5 points, 9 assists, 5 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game.

fairweatherfan - The C's will lead the league in technicals.
- This will also be the year the Rookie team finally beats the Sophomores at the All-Star Weekend.
- Andrew Bynum will show flashes of greatness but will ultimately have a disappointing season.  This is not a repeat from every year of his career.

KCatthestripe - The Toronto Raptors implode and Chris Bosh goes to a real team at the end of the season.
- Wes Matthews plays major minutes for the playoff bound Utah Jazz, thus proving that I was right all along and that nickagenta should never question my binkies again.

mkogav - 1.> Bobcats will make the playoffs
2.> Hotlanta will win > 50 games, possible finishing in front of a struggling Orlando team.

KWhit10 - Blazers will have team chemistry issues, and will greatly underachieve and getting the 5/6 seed at best.

And some lowlights:

lonelytoaster - The Celtics win 73 games

Chris
- The East will come down to the C's and Magic, both of which will be on a mission, and flirting with 70 wins.  The C's will come out on top, mainly due to an injury to Carter and the Lewis suspension costing the Magic a couple extra games.

KCattheStripe - The best rookie on the Kings turns out to be Omri Casspi

SpillingGreenDye - Celtics:  67 wins

NextCeltic34 - Darko Milicic will finally be appreciated. The Warriors will make the playoffs.

slamtheking - Sheed: 6th man award

RebusRankin - Chicago is the young team that emerges and finishes 4th in the ECF.

fairweatherfan - The top 4 regular-season teams (C's, Lakers, Magic, Cleveland) will combine to win 250 games or more.  San Antonio, however, will rest their main guys and finish 3rd in the West behind LA and either Portland or Denver.
- Celtics will finish 65-17
- The surprise team of the season will be the Pacers, I think they'll make some noise and be around the 5-6 seed in the East.

This is by no means a comprehensive list - feel free to look around and see how some of these predictions shook out.

Oof. I blame this one on a Celticsblog Draft Hangover.

Well I was right about Portland's seed, but it was more of injury problems as opposed to team chemistry issues.  Good stuff all around though totally forgot about this thread.
