  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
i missed the game.  >:(

what happened in the fourth quarter that atlanta could pull ahead as they did?

We just went cold from three in the 2nd half. I think we hit like 2 or 3 three's in the entire half.
People are saying IT was hogging the ball, but it was more that shots he usually makes weren't falling. The 2nd night of a back to back and their legs looked really gone in the 4th quarter as we missed a lot of wide open shots and easy layups.

The other major factor was Paul Milsap had a monstrous game. He shot 60%+ and hit 5 of 7 threes!
His final line was 31 points, 16 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 blocks on 60% shooting.

But yeah, we just went cold and by keeping the defensive pressure up, we didn't have the gas/spring in our legs on the offensive end.

We played very good defense for the majority of the game- they just caught fire.

Horford was terrible, Korver was probably below average, but Millsap and Teague made up for it.
ATL's defense was great but it helped that we were exhausted.

Brad decided to gamble on Bradley hitting jumpshots and Turner getting inside for our offense when IT rested in the 4th and it was an epic fail- Bradley just couldn't hit billboard sign and without IT's penetration they built a huge momentum swing.

Smart played well and caught fire from three. Sullinger and Olynyk were invisible.
This game was basically our starting Crowder, Bradley, IT, Turner, Amir, Smart with a bit of Jerebko/Sully thrown in.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

This is also one of the RARE teams that has a coach as good as Stevens .

Hawks play aggressive team basketball ......same as Celtics .

I think it's a near 50/50 tossup

It's not 50/50.  They won 60 games last year, which indicates their talent level, and they are a FAR better shooting team than the Cs.

But it's also not the craziness that some people are spewing here like a sweep.
