I was reading a story about Celtics being interested in a Vooch Rental.

Curious to get people's feedback. Note he will be a FA during this summer, and given the career-year he is having, will probably field some fairly nice offers, which we would have no way of "matching". Could be a really handy piece in the playoffs though - especially with how super-raw RWill is...

I’ve always thought he would be a great fit here. Just a really good player who would fit in Brad’s system nicely.

We couldn’t trade for him, but could be a great buyout candidate if it got to that.

You're right, we would have move more salary. Baynes and Rozier probably gets it done no?

Really don't like the idea of moving Baynes tho.

Feel free to suggest better trades!

Not really. We tried that experiment with Greg Monroe and it didn't worked out like we wanted to.

Why would Orlando do it for Yabu and a mid first? Vucevic is on 12m this year?
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Yes, I tried to adjust the poll to give some more realistic scenarios, involving more players and cash.. but generally, I think ORL pull the trigger on a deal because they won't pay him next year.

That experiment sucked because Monroe sucked. When you say something like this the player we are talking about has to potentially suck too, so you are way off.

Vuce is a big man averaging 20/12/3.5/1/1 while shooting nearly 40% from deep on almost 40% from deep. Hardly comparable to Moose, whose game is entirely inside the paint

Offense isn't the only problem with Vucevic. He's also a liability on defense. In the post season, he will be targeted on switches like teams did with Monroe. And who knows what will happen to his efficiency if his usage rate significantly goes down along with his minutes, given how deep this team is.

When we had threads about Vucevic a year or two ago I wasn't very interested.  But the guy has really improved.  I think he'd be excellent here.  I'd be happy to have him as a rental if the price was right, and I'd also be happy to have him going forward after this year if that could be worked out.  Vucevic is playing great on a team where nobody plays great... he may improve even more on a team like the C's.

I would love to have Vucevic but definitely Baynes is off limits. I wouldn't mind including Yabu but not Morris  and prefer to keep Ojeleye but he is obviously not off limits. Rozier is tricky because they would probably want him. We could probably afford to send him because of having to pay him or let him go after this season. Problem is if we think we actually have a chance to go all the way then we actually need him. If we don't think we can go all the way then we also wouldn't need Vucevic as a rental. And certainly we can't include a 1st as that is an overpay. A 2nd - sure.

I know he's having a career year but why would someone suggest that he's a buy-out candidate?
And why wouldn't Orlando pay him? He's a FA but I doubt he'll command anything that Orlando couldn't afford to keep him and I doubt someone would spend crazy $ on him just because they have a lot of cap space. Anything is possible, I guess, but I don't think he gets traded unless Orlando gets a nice offer.
