Nets already experienced a bit of the Irving experience last year as well. But it was kind of a throw away year and they thought it would get better with Durant back. It seems to have gotten worse because KD has vocally supported him. I bet KD has his limits though. When Irving loses Durant's support, he's in trouble.

The Nets without Kyrie IMO still look really good. Play like a team, better chemistry, and KD returning and running that show just makes that operation look smooth. I wouldn't say they are "imploding" still, but they will still need to add another star somehow to compete for a championship if Kyrie does basically go "MIA" on the team this season (or even retires).

Stephen A,  lol..

“He’s not worth [the drama] at all. Matter of fact, let me say this straight up and down: I think Kyrie Irving should retire,” Smith said on ESPN’s First Take Wednesday. “I think he should announce his retirement today. Clearly, you don’t want to play basketball bad enough. Now you might still want to get the $33.4 million. Obviously, devoid of some of the docked pay you’ll receive because you haven’t complied with safety protocol measures and as a result, the league is going to determine when you come back instead of yourself, for taking personal leave and obviously forfeiting game checks or whatever the case may be. But still, in all, at the end of the day, you know what you’re still going to get in excess of $20 million, at the very least, even though you’re on the books for $33.4 million this year.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

An all-time hot take by Stephen A.

not sure how some folks here defended him tooth and nails 2019-2020

I knew he was bad news when he bailed on the team ECF game 7. Terrible

As I mentioned a few posts above, that relationship with Durant is going to be crucial for Kyrie.

As down as we all were during Kyrie's time in Boston, perhaps our takeaway should be that we are impressed with how the team managed to survive long enough to see him leave.

They have no depth now. Nets starters are going to have to play 40 mins a game. Should be interesting.
