Bubble or not, he won a title so I think you'd be hard pressed to give anything lower than a B unless you have an axe to grind with the guy.

Yeah, that is where I am.

B

On another note, I am amazed LeBron has been in LAL for 5 years. I would have guessed 3. I still do not associate him with the Lakers at all. LeBron has now been in LA longer than he was in Miami.

I went with A because of 1. the title and 2.  the Lakers were a joke the 5 years before he got there. He made them relevant again and won a title.

A.

Won a title and made them relevant again post-Kobe. Make no mistake, once Lebron leaves (or retires) it won't matter if AD is there no one will care as much again for a while. Maybe until Giannis or someone orchestrates their way there

Looking though the eyes of the avg LA Laker fan. A+++..They were once again gifted what they have come to expect . Always having the best player open the door and walk in. They bow down and let him take over.  Everything must be golden every year at all costs for LA or NBA panics ….our money cow. ..OMG

Le Whine gave em another banner. Whining all the way .The number one player who drew the AD in for them , another given they MUST always have the best big in basketball.  A Media favorite .
He represents them perfectly. All they need is Kyrie really and CP3 to complete the clown show.

FIVE STAR rating for Bron  all the way ……mission accomplished you appeased this miserable  :laugh:crowd ::)I hate them more than ever .

Agree with Moranis and Phantom that he deserves a high grade for the championship and franchise revitalization, so an A seems logical. But compared to his stints in Miami, 2nd in Cleveland and maybe even his 1st in Cleveland the results are sub par. It’s a pickle… you are lowering the Lebron Standard if you give an A but for most any other player the LA results would garner an A.

I don't disagree with that but I think it's worth mentioning that getting rid of Jim Buss (and Magic) in the basketball operations was a big step in ending their being a joke.

I wonder what Lakers fans would give for a grade. I imagine it would be closer to a C or B tops.

The next top 5 player will get there soon enough.

I agree it’s an A. He’s an amazing athlete and his longevity (quality) is just about as impressive as Brady’s.  Hate that he went to LAL.

If I give KG an A I have to give Lebron an A.

I would say a C probably, they expected more championships

Similar to the New Three reign, I bet.  Happy to get that title but left you wanting more.

If I give KG an A I have to give Lebron an A.

I would say KG had a better record here than LBJ does in LAL.

KG = 1 title, 1 Finals, 1 ECF, 2 ECSF, 1 ECR1 in 6 years
LeBron = 1 title, 1 WCF, 1 WCR1, 2 lotto in 5 years

An extra Finals appearance that went 7 games. Two extra second round runs. Never missed the playoffs. LeBron has missed the playoffs twice.

So I give KG an A and LeBron a B.

From an unbiased perspective, it's an A. He brought a championship to the Lakers, and brought prestige and media attention with his accomplishments like breaking the all-time scoring record.

From a Lakers fan perspective I bet it's a C or a D. They expected a dynasty from a guy past his prime and a weak supporting cast.

From a Celtics fan perspective I also give it a C. Seeing the Lakers win another banner with him was bad, but seeing their struggles since then has been very good.

Bubble or not, he won a title so I think you'd be hard pressed to give anything lower than a B unless you have an axe to grind with the guy.

Or you can have really high expectations because of how great a player he has been throughout his career. He came to LA having been to 8 straight finals. He then was pretty quickly paired with arguably the best player he has ever teamed up with in AD. I think what looks like 1 finals trip in 6 years is a little surprising given that context (although I also did not think he would be this good as long as he has either). I am between a b and c for him, with a b making second round or something this year and a c if he fails to make the playoffs. I certainly think either would be fair, and only fair for him cause of how great he has been for so long.
