Bill Simmons discussed this on his recent podcast, and the more I ponder it, the more it makes sense, especially if the Lakers fall out of the play-in.

What kind of package does a 39-year-old, top 15 player, demand?

Lowry
Robinson
Two First Rounders

That's my guess; Robinson may be redirected to a third team for an expiring deal, like Detroit’s Joe Harris.

I think he'll stay in LA, but as a wildcard, I've always thought that he'd sign in Philly.  He's mentioned how he idolized Dr. J, and they've already got a near-championship roster.

Hard to imagine while Bronny is enrolled at USC.

Bronny is one-and-done, right?

In LeBron's mind he is. But he honestly isn't that good. Rotation player in college. The younger son is the better player.

Highly unlikely for all sorts of reasons.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I don't think we have any indication on that. He certainly has never said anything close to that

I don't think I would rate this as one of the better Simmons takes.
Man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time.

But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.

The segment from that podcast was titled "Fake Lebron James Trades" so I don't think it was supposed to be taken too seriously.

he didn't say anything close to Bronny is "one and done'?

A couple days ago he reportedly just said " he (Bronny) could play for us (lakers) "right now" ...if true, that implies he considers him one and done

Being a role/rotation player in college doesn't exclude a player from being a good pro. Most star college player end up as role players in the pros anyways so starting from the team first role player mindset can jump start a players ability to contribute at the NBA level

I think high usage college players have problems adjusting to not being high usage players in the NBA.

I actually think Jordan Walsh will end up in this category of player.  Never the "star" but a "star in their role."

Is that more or less likely than the possibility that he's just talking up his kid like every other sports parent on the planet?
